伝介が言う所も一理ある。「病気のうちの良い病気」というのは「持ちたがり病」という病気だ。「寒くとも夜を張る人の衣替えとは」という良い句である。少し寒いと世間に構わず無性に重ね着し、厚いのもまた人に勝れ、三月の初めから葛籠笠とも、女がお供えの飾り立てのように扇子を振りながら歩く。向こうから派手な着替え放題の人が来る。去年の目に見えたのは紋所の光る布子、明くる年は紅裏の小袖ができ、まだ帯は値段から踏めないうちから大幅の袖頭巾をした。
