●考えてみると『日本書紀』巻三十の二十一丁に、持統天皇六年三月に伊勢に行幸があって、同五月に志摩の阿胡行宮におられたと見えている。この時のことである。
●賀茂翁の『万葉考』巻一の十九丁に云く、「いらごは三河国の崎である。その崎がとても長く突き出て、志摩のたぶしの崎と遥かに向かい合っている。その間の海門に神島・大つゞみ・小つゝみなどという島々がある。それらをかけて古はいらごの島と言ったのか。されどこの島門あたりは、世に恐ろしい波が立つまま、普通の船人でさえようやく渡る所なれば、官女などが船遊びする所ではない。これは京にて大よそを聞いて推量によって詠んだのみである」●『万葉略解』巻一の三十六丁も同じ、●久老神主の『万葉考』巻三の別記二十一のページにもこの行幸のことを詳しく言って、「伊勢国河口の行宮より、大淀の方に出発し、二見がうらを御船に召して、いらご崎を背向に見なさって、答志崎を南に折れて、阿胡行宮には至られたのであろう」と言っている。

●Upon consideration, in "Nihon Shoki" volume 30, folio 21, it is recorded that there was an imperial progress to Ise in the third month of the sixth year of Empress Jitō's reign, and in the fifth month of the same year she stayed at the Ago temporary palace in Shima. This refers to that time.
●Elder Kamo's "Man'yō-kō" volume 1, folio 19 states: "Irago is a cape in Mikawa Province. This cape extends very far out and faces Tabushi Cape in Shima across the distance. In the sea gate between them are islands called Kamishima, Ōtsuzumi, Kotsuzumi, and others. Collectively, these were called Irago Island in ancient times. However, this area around the island strait is where fearsome waves constantly rise, and even ordinary boatmen barely manage to cross, so it is not a place where court ladies would go pleasure boating. ●Upon examination, "Nihon Shoki" volume 29, folio 7, in the entry for the fourth year of Emperor Tenmu's reign, fourth month, first day Kōshin, day Shin-u, records "Prince Omi of Third Rank, etc." This prince appears only here, and in "Kōtō Shōun-roku," "Teikō Keizu," "Dai Nihon-shi," etc.
