●此高師山考の一条は、いにし天保の四とせといふ霜月のころ、おのが考の
したかまへの事、人づてにきゝたる由にて、ある遠江人のもとよりかの、山は遠津
淡海の国内なる事はいとしるきを、その国内なりとのたまふは、いと〳〵
いぶかしいかでその御考ぶみ見まほしといひおこせければ、いまだ片なりの
愚考にはあれど、其／草稿（シタガキ）を取出て再考をものして、彼方（カナタ）へおくれる也、かれ余（ホカ）の
条々（クダリ〳〵）と体裁（サマ）ことにていかゞなれど、書改めんもいとまいるわさなれば、其まゝ

現代語訳
●この高師山考の一条は、過去の天保四年という霜月の頃、私の考えの
下書きの事を、人づてに聞いたという理由で、ある遠江の人の元からその、山は遠江
の国内にある事はとても明らかなのに、その国内であるとおっしゃるのは、とても
疑わしい、どうかその御考えの文書を見たいと言ってこされたので、まだ不完全な
愚考ではあるが、その草稿を取り出して再考をして、あちらへ送ったのである。それで他の
条項と体裁が異なっていてどうかと思うが、書き改めるのも非常に面倒な作業なので、そのまま
ここには挙げるのである。
なお高師山を詠める古歌どもは
●新勅撰（五秋の下） 鎌倉右大臣
雲のいる梢遥かに霧籠めて高師の山に鹿ぞ鳴くなる（名）
●新千載（八旅） 東へ参りける時高師山にて詠める 法眼行済

英語訳
●This section on the study of Mount Takashi dates to around the 11th month of Tenpō 4 (1833), when someone from Tōtōmi, having heard through others about my draft considerations, wrote saying: "While it is very clear that the mountain is within Tōtōmi Province, your assertion that it is within this province [Mikawa] is very questionable - I would very much like to see your scholarly writings on this." So, though it was still an incomplete and humble consideration, I took out that draft, reconsidered it, and sent it over there. Therefore, though the format differs from other sections and may seem awkward, since rewriting would be an extremely troublesome task, I include it here as is.

With clouds settling on distant treetops shrouded in mist, deer cry on Mount Takashi (Name)
