現代語訳

○藤川（ふじかわ）　　●『三河潮草』に云う、額田郡である、昔は「うち川」とも言ったということである。
　　　　　　●『世諺弁略』巻二の二十三丁に云う、もとは宇治川という、駅の北裏に川がある、また南の方に大平川の流れなどに、藤の花が多くあって、旅人の壮観とするゆえにこのように改めた。今は藤が絶えてしまった。
　●『富士紀行』　　うち河（宇治八十八本）の里と申す所にて　尭孝法師
　　誰が住む都の辰巳、鹿川ではなくて、こや東路のうち川の里よ
　　　この歌は『名所図会』に古詠ありと詠み人知らずとして出しているのはいかがなものか

　　　　　　●『吾妻鏡』巻十の六十四丁、建久元年源頼朝卿上洛の条に、十二月十九日夜に入り宮路山中に宿させ給うとあるのは、今の山中の元宿のことであるという。

　　旅衣で手立てなしとも思われず民も賑わう山中の里よ

○Fujikawa　　●The "Mikawa Shiogusa" states: It is in Nukata County, and in ancient times it was also called "Uchikawa."
　　　　　　●The "Seigen Benryaku" volume 2, page 23 states: Originally called Ujikawa, there is a river behind the north of the station, and also to the south in the flow of the Ōhira River and others, there were many wisteria flowers that provided a magnificent sight for travelers, hence the name was changed to this. Now the wisteria has disappeared.
　●"Fuji Kikō"　　At the place called the village of Uchikawa (Uji eighty-eight volume)　Priest Gyōkō
　　Who lives in the southeast of the capital? Not Shikagawa, but oh, this Uchikawa village on the eastern road
　　　It is questionable that this poem appears in the "Meisho Zue" as an ancient poem by an unknown author

　　Not knowing the deep pools and shallows of Fujikawa, I thrust in my pole and got the sleeves of my robe wet

　　Though things have changed, remembering the connection to this old lodging place, the purple-scented wisteria flowers of Fujikawa

○Yamanaka　　●The "Mikawa Shiogusa" states: It is in Nukata County, between Fujikawa post station and Akasaka post station.
　　　　　　●In the "Azuma Kagami" volume 10, page 64, in the entry about Minamoto no Yoritomo's journey to the capital in the first year of Kenkyū, it states that on the 19th day of the 12th month, he lodged at Miyaji Yamanaka upon entering the night, which refers to the present Moto-juku of Yamanaka.
　●"Fuji Kikō"　　At the lodging of Yamanaka, the liveliness during the daytime hours knows no bounds　Priest Gyōkō
　　Even in traveling clothes without means, it does not seem so, as the people too prosper in the village of Yamanaka
　●"Fuji Kikō"　　There is a place called Yamanaka, and just then the faint cry of deer could be heard　Lord Fujiwara no Masayo
　　How uncertain, the cry of deer calling in this Yamanaka, a voice heard without knowing what sustenance they seek
