○赤坂（あかさか）　　●『三河潮草』に云う、宝飯郡である。上古赤坂という旧跡、宮路山の
　　　　　　中にあり、『東鑑』（巻十の六十四丁）に見えている。●『世諺弁略』（巻二の二十三丁）に云う、天武天皇
　　　　　　の皇子、草壁親王の行在所、宮路山という其の山坂によって明坂と

英語訳

○Akasaka (Akasaka)　　●"Mikawa Shiogusa" states: This is in Hōi County. In ancient times, there was a historic site called Akasaka in the middle of Mount Miyaji, which appears in the "Azuma Kagami" (Volume 10, folio 64). ●"Segen Benryaku" (Volume 2, folio 23) states: The temporary palace of Prince Kusakabe, son of Emperor Tenmu, was on Mount Miyaji, and due to this mountain slope it was called Akasaka (Bright Slope). Originally located east of Fujikawa, the former location is now called Honjuku, etc.

　　　●"Matsuba-shū" Volume 11 has the heading "Akasaka Mino" and includes the above four poems. However, since the preface to the poem "rising clear over Akasaka" etc. states "when going down to Mikawa" etc., it is clear this refers to our province.
