山家霧、〽山あひの霧はさながら嶋（海）【「海」朱字】に似て波かときけは松風の音、
其後応永二年／九（四イ）月十 ／八（四イ）日ニ卒とあり、よく似たる歌也けり、《割書：松田秀任が｜武者物語》

○櫻井（サクラヰ）寺 ●三川モシホ草云、額田￣ノ郡なる真言宗の古梵刹なり、
寺号ヲ村の名とせり、此寺に名井あり、
●刪補松云碧海￣ノ郡にも同名の寺あり、額田￣ノ郡を正しとす、《割書：白同、》
●三川雀ニ云、弘法大師桜￣ノ枝をたづさへ、東嶺地をつき給へば、霊【㚑】泉涌出す、桜
枝をば井の辺に立給へば、生付て年々花咲出と云り●三才図会ニもしかいへり、
●和名抄碧海郡櫻井￣ノ郷あり、●藻塩草《割書：六ノ｜廿三丁》桜井里《割書：山城或云三河》

ちれはうかひちらねば花の影さしていつもたえせぬ桜井の水【「水」の左に「寺イ」】《割書：白｜モ》【「白モ」朱字】
●白云、桜井寺といふ処二処あり、いづれにやしらず、東の桜井寺に残る歌也、
●三川雀云、大和国桜井にも此歌石に彫てあり、
●按ニ夫木丗一雑￣ノ十三に、さくら井【「井」朱字】の里の歌四首ありて、山城また摂津とあり

現代語訳
山家霧、山間の霧はそのまま島（海）に似て、波かと聞けば松風の音
その後応永二年九月（四月の異説あり）十八日（四日の異説あり）に卒去したとある。よく似た歌である。（松田秀任の『武者物語』にも、この政宗の歌を載せている。）
○桜井寺 ●『三河藻塩草』によると、額田郡にある真言宗の古い梵刹である。寺号を村の名としている。この寺に名井がある。
●『刪補松』によると碧海郡にも同名の寺があるが、額田郡を正しいとする。
●『三河雀』によると、弘法大師が桜の枝を携えて、東の嶺の地を突かれると、霊泉が湧き出した。桜の枝を井戸の辺に立てられると、根付いて年々花が咲き出すという。●『三才図会』にも同様に記されている。
●『和名抄』に碧海郡桜井の郷がある。●『藻塩草』桜井里（山城国、或いは三河国という）
○ 弘法大師
散れば浮かび散らねば花の影差して、いつも絶えない桜井の水（寺の異説あり）
●『白』によると、桜井寺という所は二ヶ所あり、いずれか分からないが、東の桜井寺に残る歌である。
●『三河雀』によると、大和国桜井にもこの歌が石に彫ってある。
●考察するに『夫木抄』巻三十一雑の十三に、桜井の里の歌四首があって、山城国また摂津国とある。
●（『秋の寝覚』にも山城国とある）また『山家集』に「小芹摘む沢の氷の隙間見えて春めき始める桜井の里」

Mountain Dwelling Mist: The mist between mountains resembles an island (sea) just as it is, and what sounds like waves is the sound of pine winds
Thereafter, it states he died on the 18th day (variant: 4th day) of the 9th month (variant: 4th month) of Ōei 2. This is quite a similar poem. (Matsuda Hidetō's "Musha Monogatari" also includes this poem by Masamune.)
○Sakurai Temple ●According to "Mikawa Moshiogusa," this is an ancient Shingon Buddhist temple in Nukata District. The temple's name became the village name. This temple has a famous well.
●According to "Sanpo Matsu," there is also a temple of the same name in Hekikai District, but Nukata District is considered correct.
●According to "Mikawa Suzume," when Kōbō Daishi carried a cherry branch and struck the ground of the eastern ridge, a sacred spring gushed forth. When he planted the cherry branch by the well, it took root and flowers bloomed year after year. ●"Sansai Zue" also records this similarly.
●In "Wamyō-shō" there is Sakurai Village in Hekikai District. ●"Moshiogusa" Sakurai Village (either Yamashiro Province or Mikawa Province)
○ Kōbō Daishi
When scattered they float, when not scattered the flower shadows cast—the ever-flowing waters of Sakurai (variant: temple)
●According to "Haku," there are two places called Sakurai Temple, and though it's unclear which one, this is a poem remaining at the eastern Sakurai Temple.
●According to "Mikawa Suzume," this poem is also carved in stone at Sakurai in Yamato Province.
●Upon examination, in "Fuboku-shō" volume 31, Miscellaneous section 13, there are four poems about Sakurai Village, attributed to Yamashiro or Settsu provinces.
●(In "Aki no Nezame" it's also attributed to Yamashiro Province.) Also in "Sankashū": "Where small parsley is picked, gaps appear in the stream's ice, and spring begins in Sakurai Village"
