箱根にて四を振り、今度は原、吉原。時化にて三日の逗留。双六は富士を見ている奴とかけて、行く馬方も富士が見えなければ張り子にでも調べさせて。さて本当に中間を出して、差酌をかけさせる。

吉原でようやく天気が上がり、今度は五を振って府中。双六の絵は安倍川餅を拵えている者一人、食う人一人。これは道中、中には無いせいか、安く有り付ける事。先へ侍を回し、餅を食わせておく。

Having rolled a four at Hakone, this time it's Hara, Yoshiwara. Due to rough weather, a three-day stay. The sugoroku shows someone looking at Mount Fuji, and even the packhorse drivers, if they cannot see Fuji, are made to examine it through papier-mâché models. Now truly bringing out attendants and having them serve sake.

At Yoshiwara the weather finally cleared, and this time rolling a five to reach Fuchu. The sugoroku picture shows one person making Abekawa mochi and one person eating. Since this isn't available along other parts of the journey, it can be had cheaply. A samurai is sent ahead to have the mochi ready for eating.

Innkeeper, though it's troublesome, please stay in that position until the lord arrives. I too must keep eating like this. There's quite a reason for this.
