一つの種類でありながら、わずかに異なるものがある。州や郡によって名前が異なるものがある。土壌によって、肥沃さや痩せ具合が異なるものがある。寒暖に従って、開花や散り方が異なるものがある。雨や晴天に従って、色や香りが異なるものがある。そうすると人は必ず言うだろう、「この譜に尽くされていない」と。これはただ私が聞いたところを記したのみである。荊公の山桜の詩を見ると、中華にもこの花がないとは言えない。この花に香りがないとは言えない。ただそれぞれに土地に適したものがあるが、桐谷や塩竈の類はない。故に土地の人があまり愛玩しないのである。また、この国（日本）に御衣黄、白舞、青猊の類がないのと同様である。厳惟省が言うには、宋の諸賢の詩文集中に、これらを見ることができないと。かつて南方に遊んだ者に質問して説明を求めたところ、「あちらにはこれが
