○怡顔斎が言うには、彼岸桜と同じである。ただし葉がないことから名付けられた。「葉」と「歯」は和訓で通じる意味がある。活所翁の桜譜に記載されている。
○活所翁の桜譜によると、茎が短く、花が密集して付き、葉がない。年老いた婆が歯がないという意味から名付けられた。花は彼岸桜より遅れて咲く。
○鈍永が言うには、花が開くのは桐ヶ谷桜より遅い。緋桜や江戸桜と同時期に咲く。ただし彼岸桜の条で述べた婆彼岸とこの婆桜は別の品種である。

○Igansai says: It is the same as the equinox cherry (higan-zakura). However, it was named for having no leaves. "Ha" (leaf) and "ha" (tooth) share the same pronunciation in Japanese. This is recorded in Elder Kassho's cherry catalog.
○According to Elder Kassho's cherry catalog: The stem is short, flowers grow densely clustered, and there are no leaves. It was named after the meaning of an old woman having no teeth. The flowers bloom later than the equinox cherry.
○Dōnei says: The flowering is later than Kirigayatsu cherry. It blooms at the same time as scarlet cherry and Edo cherry. However, the "Uba-higan" mentioned in the section on equinox cherry and this Uba-zakura are different varieties.
