花 薄（うす）いろあり八重彼岸
に等（ひと）しく花 密（こゞなり）て咲（さく）
鎧（よろひ）に小桜 威（をどし）といふもの有
此花色に象（かたど）りて名付
たる也
白桜（しろざくら）

○鈍永曰山桜に似て
色（いろ）潔白（けつはく）なり単（ひとへ）にして
弁（はなびら）広（ひろ）く丸（まろ）し茎（くき）葉（は）共（とも）
青（あを）し花色 雪（ゆき）山桜と
いふもの有 夫（それ）に勝（すく）れて
白（しろ）し是 芳野（よしの）山桜と
いふものなるべし

小桜（こざくら）

○怡顔斎が言うには、山桜の一種である。
花は薄い色があり、八重彼岸桜と
同じように花が密に咲く。
鎧に小桜威というものがある。
この花の色を模して名付けた
ものである。
白桜（しろざくら）
【挿絵】
○鈍永が言うには、山桜に似て
色は純白である。一重咲きで
花弁は広く丸い。茎も葉も共に
青緑色である。花色雪山桜と
いうものがある。それよりも
白い。これは芳野（吉野）山桜と
いうもののことであろう。
英語訳
Ko-zakura (Small Cherry)

○Igan-sai says: This is a variety of mountain cherry.
The flowers have a light color and bloom
densely like the double Higan cherry.
There is something called ko-zakura-odoshi for armor.
It was named after modeling
the color of this flower.
Shiro-zakura (White Cherry)
[Illustration]
○Ton'ei says: It resembles mountain cherry but
the color is pure white. It has single petals
that are broad and round. Both stems and leaves
are blue-green. There is one called Hanashiki-yuki-yamazakura
(Flower-colored Snow Mountain Cherry).
This one is whiter than that.
This is probably what is called
Yoshino mountain cherry.
