○怡顔斎曰或は火桜に
作（つく）る緋（ひ）も火も赤（あかき）の義（ぎ）なり
千弁（せんよう）小輪にて茎（くき）長く
垂（たれ）さがるひらかざるときは
甚（はなはだ）紅（あかき）也開て色（いろ）淡紅（うすあかき）也
紫（むらさき）の菊（きく）に甚 似（に）たり又
是に似て白 少（すこし）紅暈（ひかり）有
ものを芸花園（げいくはゑん）に楊貴妃と云 蓋（けだし）一 類（るい）
二種也

緋桜（ひざくら）
【挿絵】
○怡顔斎曰く、あるいは火桜と書く。緋も火も赤いという意味である。
千弁で小輪、茎が長く垂れ下がる。開かない時は非常に紅色で、開くと色は淡紅色である。
紫の菊に非常によく似ている。また、これに似て白く少し紅の光沢があるものを芸花園では楊貴妃と呼ぶ。おそらく一類二種である。

○Igensei says: Sometimes written as "fire cherry." Both "hi" (scarlet) and "fire" mean red.
It has thousands of petals in small flowers, with long stems that droop downward. When unopened, it is very red in color, but when it opens, the color becomes pale red.
It closely resembles purple chrysanthemums. Also, similar varieties that are white with a slight reddish tinge are called "Yang Guifei" at Geikuhaen garden. These are probably one category with two varieties.
