○怡顔斎曰 全（まつたく）虎尾におなじ但（たゞし）枝 曲（きよく）
折（せつ）ありて枝（ゑだ）に相つらなつて末（すへ）にいたり
疎（まばら）に花（はな）貼（つく）一枝の間（あいた）断続（だんぞく）して一 所（しよ）に
欑（むらがら）ず泰山虎尾一種にして分（わか）る
○活所翁桜譜曰 千弁（せんよう）にて少し赤（あか）く
大輪にして紅梅（かうばい）のごとし葉（は）は稀々（まれ〳〵）に有

○怡顔斎が言うには、全く虎尾と同じである。ただし枝に曲がりがあって、枝が連なって先端に至り、まばらに花が付く。一つの枝の間で断続して、一箇所に群がることがない。泰山と虎尾は一つの種類であって分かれる。
○活所翁桜譜によれば、千枚の花弁を持ち、少し赤く、大きな花で紅梅のようである。葉はまれにしかない。

○ Igan-sai says: It is exactly the same as Toranoo (Tiger's Tail). However, the branches have curves, and the branches connect to reach the tips, with flowers attaching sparsely. Between individual branches there are interruptions, and they do not cluster in one place. Taizan and Toranoo are of one variety but separate.
○ According to Kassho-ō's Cherry Compendium: It has a thousand petals, is slightly red, with large flowers like red plum blossoms. Leaves are rarely present.
○ Don'ei says: Taizan-bukun appears in the Genpei Seisuiki (Rise and Fall of the Minamoto and Taira)
