いはく桜待中納言（さくらまちのちうなごん）此花のさかり数日（すじつ）
なき事をかなしみ泰山府君を祭（まつ）りて
三七日の齢（よはひ）をのべたりとそ
千早振現人神のかみたれは
花のよはひは延ひにけるかな
万葉集（まんようしう）にも花のさかり七日は過（すぎ）しとよめり

現代語訳
泰山府君の記録によると、桜待中納言がこの花の盛りが数日しかないことを悲しみ、泰山府君を祀って二十一日間花の寿命を延ばしたという。
千早振る現人神の神であるので
花の寿命は延びたのだなあ
万葉集にも花の盛りは七日で過ぎると詠まれている。

○怡顔斎が言うには、八重咲きで花弁が細い。虎尾に似ている。京都の伊勢桜と同じ時期に開花する。

According to the records, Sakuramachi-no-Chūnagon (Minister Sakuramachi) grieved that the peak blooming of this flower lasted only a few days, so he worshipped Taizan-bukun and extended the flower's lifespan for twenty-one days.
Since the deity is a living god who shakes the sacred hemp,
The flower's lifespan has indeed been extended
The Man'yōshū also contains a poem saying that the peak of flower blooming passes in seven days.
