現代語訳
○鈍永が言うには、重弁（八重咲き）で大輪である。非常に大きいものは二寸余り（約6cm以上）もある。花弁は広く薄い。茎は細く長い。蕊（おしべ・めしべ）は短い。色は楊貴妃桜と同じで、ほんのりと赤いので暁と呼ぶ。また明星桜とも言う。

○怡顔斎が言うには、千弁（非常に多くの花弁）で、五、六輪が一箇所に密集して付く。花はあまり開かない。茎は長く垂れ下がる。色は赤い。花の中の蕊はわずかに一筋、二筋程度で、茶の芽のような形をしている。巻いた葉が五、六分（約1.5-1.8cm）の長さの青い芽を二、三個持つ。
英語訳
○ Don'ei says: It has double petals and large flowers. Very large ones can be over two sun (about 6cm or more) in diameter. The petals are broad and thin. The stems are slender and long. The stamens and pistils are short. The color is the same as Yōkihi cherry, with a subtle reddish tint, hence it is called Akatsuki (Dawn). It is also called Myōjō-zakura (Morning Star Cherry).

○ Igan-sai says: It has a thousand petals (very many petals), with five or six flower heads densely clustered together in one place. The flowers do not open very wide. The stems are long and drooping. The color is red. The stamens within the flower are only one or two strands, shaped like tea buds. It has rolled leaves with two or three green buds about five to six bu (approximately 1.5-1.8cm) in length.
