須磨の若木の桜の実を植えたものがある由。
春から秋まで花が開き、冬は花がない。夏の五、六月頃に若芽が出て梢に花が咲き、葉が茂る。
春は山桜より早く花が咲くという。花は一重で
小輪であり、葉は小さく枝も細い。高さは一尺
を越えずに花をつける。また八重もあり、四季
ともに花が開く。一株の内に蕾があり、開花しているものがあり、
落花しているものがあり、若葉があり、落葉がある。駿州に
この類が所々にある。また右の節会桜、一名十六日桜、
この意味を予州の土地の人に尋ねてみたところ、四季には
咲かず、正月十六日に特に開花するという。同国和気
郡山越村竜音寺の山際にあるという。

There is one that was grown from the seeds of the young tree cherry of Suma.
It blooms from spring to autumn, with no flowers in winter. In summer, around the fifth and sixth months, young buds emerge and flowers bloom on the branches while leaves flourish.
In spring, it is said to bloom earlier than mountain cherry. The flowers are single-petaled
and small, with small leaves and thin branches. It produces flowers without exceeding one shaku in height. There are also double-flowered varieties that bloom in all four seasons. Within one plant there are buds, some in bloom,
some with fallen petals, some with young leaves, and some with fallen leaves. In Sunshū, there are various places where this type can be found. Also, regarding the aforementioned Sechie-zakura, also called Jūrokunichi-zakura (Sixteenth Day Cherry),
when I inquired about this meaning with local people in Yoshū, they said it does not bloom in all four seasons but blooms particularly on the sixteenth day of the first month. It is said to be found on the mountainside of Ryūon Temple in Yamakoshi Village, Wake District of the same province.
