村々の水の便がよく、いずれも豊作となり、ありがたく心得ている段については相違ございません。一同の申し出でございますので、願いの通り差し出すようにするのがよろしいかという旨、願書を添えて手崎御郡代が申し出た書付を拝見いたしました。寄合の申し出でございますので、願いの通り差し出すようにお聞かせするようにと本締中より申し伝えます。
右の件は安政元年寅年十二月二十七日、御郡代処において御郡代三澤春太郎殿より後藤庄助、湯浅竜助へ右の御書付をお渡しになるよう仰せ付けられ、写しを取り、他の同役中へ申し継ぐよう仰せ付けられた件です。
○【朱書き】五十九 東勝郡方へ
御箱訴並びに目安の取り扱いに時間がかかりすぎているとお思し召しになり、今後は迅速に処理するよう仕ることという旨、江戸表からここ許当職へご沙汰がございました旨、元締の面々より達しがあり、先日その旨をお伝えしておいた件でございます。手崎与頭庄屋らにも取り扱いを迅速に処理するよう、出会いの際にお聞かせすることといたします。もっとも右の者らの姓名を記録しておき、何月何日に承りました旨を姓名の上に書き記すこととします。

Regarding the matter that all villages have good water access, all had abundant harvests, and are gratefully aware of this - there is no discrepancy in this account. Since this is the application of the entire group, the Tezaki district magistrate has submitted documents asking whether it would be appropriate to allow them to proceed as requested, with the petition attached. Having reviewed this, since this is an application from the assembly, the main administrators communicate that they should be informed to proceed as requested.
The above matter: On the 27th day of the 12th month of Ansei 1, Year of the Tiger, at the district magistrate's office, District Magistrate Misawa Shuntaro ordered that the aforementioned documents be handed over to Goto Shosuke and Yuasa Ryusuke, that copies be made, and that the information be passed on to other officials of the same rank.
○ [Red ink] Fifty-nine: To the Eastern Katsu District Office
His lordship thinks that the handling of official complaints (hakuso) and petitions (meyasu) is taking too long, and has issued instructions from Edo to the local officials here that such matters should be processed more quickly going forward. This was communicated by the head administrators, and we informed you of this the other day. We shall also inform the Tezaki group leaders and village headmen to handle cases more expeditiously when we meet with them. Of course, the names of said individuals shall be recorded, and above their names shall be written the date on which the matter was received.
