御制服之儀御端書御渡被遊候写
於江戸表ニ御家中之面々綿服相用候様尤持懸り
絹物之義ハ取交相用向後拵候品ハ都而綿服ニ
仕候様被仰出候右ニ付繁ニ在番罷越候面々も
右ニ相順シ候様被仰出候御觸写を以爰許
御家中へも先頃御觸達有之御家中之面々も
於御国許絹物取交相用候様ニとの御趣意ニ
無之全江戸表限り候御觸達ニ而殊更市郷
之者ニ懸り候義ニ無之處爰元市中之者
心得違此比専絹物相用候哉ニ相聞候随而
近在之義ハ市中風儀早ク押移り候義有之
候ニ付右様之心得違無之様近在役人共始

御制服の儀、御端書御渡し遊ばされ候写
江戸表において御家中の面々が綿服を相用いる様、もっとも持ち掛かりの絹物の義は取り交ぜて相用い、向後拵える品はすべて綿服にいたす様仰せ出された。右につき、頻繁に在番に罷り越す面々もこれに相順ずる様仰せ出された。御触れ写しをもってこちら許の御家中へも先頃御触れ達しがあり、御家中の面々もお国許において絹物を取り交ぜて相用いる様にとの御趣意ではなく、全く江戸表限りの御触れ達しにて、殊更市郷の者に掛かる義ではないところ、こちら元の市中の者が心得違いをし、この頃専ら絹物を相用いている様に相聞こえる。したがって近在の義は市中の風儀が早く押し移る義があるにつき、右様の心得違いがない様、近在役人共始め

At Edo, members of the retainer households should use cotton clothing. Of course, silk items already in their possession may be used intermittently, but all items made hereafter should be cotton clothing, as has been decreed. Regarding this, those who frequently go to serve in Edo rotation should also comply with this, as has been ordered. Through copies of the official notice, this was also communicated to our retainer households here some time ago. However, the intent was not that retainer households should use silk items intermittently while in their home domain, but rather this official notice applied exclusively to Edo. Moreover, this was not a matter concerning townspeople and rural residents, yet the townspeople here have misunderstood and appear to be exclusively using silk items these days.
