本文の小手代役については、地盤頭三人で相勤めていたところ、天保年間の頃、右三人の御免を仰せ付けられ、跡役五人と共に交代で相勤めるよう仰せ付けられたため、頭一人分の下賜銀は冥加として頂戴せず、頭二人前を頂戴して仕えております。

Therefore, the silver grant for one head clerk is not received as a blessing, and we serve receiving payment for two head clerks.
