現代語訳
右の書付を十一月二十七日に提出したところ、同夜四つ時頃、詰合の御呼び出しにより名東屋の御地方役所へ出向いたところ、前記の申し出について、担当の御郡代様の御評議による御処置も程よく済んだので、各々帰村の上で申し聞かせ書の意味を見失わないよう重々申し聞かせるよう、との旨。とりわけ歩懸り（年貢）を完納した村方もあるので、これらについては実情として百姓共の手元が行き詰まらない運用であれば、御指延の員数を申し出ること。そのような場合には指図書を以て来春へ御指延を仰せ付けられる旨等。穂積恰様が御不参のため、御請持の谷邦之進様が直接仰せ付けられる筈であったが、御急ぎで御引き請けがあったため、この日以来、詰合で骨折って申し聞かせ、帰村するよう仰せ付けられた。この御趣旨について、出合わせていない同役へも早々申し継ぐよう、阿部竹太郎殿が仰せ聞かされた事。

The aforementioned written report was submitted on the 27th day of the 11th month. That same night around the hour of the Rat (10 PM), we were summoned to the office and went to the Nanto-ya regional administration office. There, regarding the previously mentioned petition, the deliberations and administrative measures by the responsible district magistrate had been satisfactorily completed. Therefore, each person should return to their village and thoroughly convey the meaning of the instruction document so that its intent would not be lost. Particularly, since there are village areas that have fully paid their taxes (ayegakari), for such cases, if the actual situation allows the farmers to manage without financial distress, they should report the amounts eligible for deferment. In such cases, deferment until next spring would be granted through official directive. Since Hozumi [family name] was absent, Tani Kuninoshin, who was in charge, was supposed to issue direct orders, but due to urgent business requiring his immediate attention, from this day forward, we were instructed to work diligently at our posts, convey these instructions, and return to our villages. Abe Taketaro informed us that this directive should also be promptly communicated to colleagues who were not present.
