荒候義御坐候とも又々生出候所ゟ格別迷惑不仕候
得共正月廿日比ゟ彼岸迄者穂はらみの芽立
ニ而御坐候事故右時節喰荒候ニおゐてハ再生返り
不申作人共数月之労一時ニ空敷相成候而ハ別而心配
仕趣ニ相聞申候然ニ其砌ハ最早引鳥之頃ニ相向讒之
日数ニ相成前顕之懸難渋仕儀ニ御坐候得者先正月
末ゟ彼岸迄之間年々気候之遅速ニ随右時節之
儀者時々申出候義ニ御坐候条日数十五日斗之間鴈
追立候義御指寛メ被仰付候様之御道者有御坐間布
哉於然ハ百姓共大に相窕キ重々難有奉存候處ゟ自然
心得方ゟ取改究方よく行届様之取〆りニ相成可申と
存候勿論右申出之通り被仰付候おゐてハ何以不心得之追
方等不仕様申付尚亦究方之義ハ御相談ニ相及申義ニ

正兵衛御城へ外御用ニ付罷出候所先達而申出有之

荒らす義がございましても、また生え出るところから格別迷惑はいたしませんが、正月二十日頃から彼岸までは穂孕みの芽立ちでございます故、右時節に食い荒らすにおいては再生返りいたさず、作人共数ヶ月の労が一時に空しく相成っては別して心配いたす趣に相聞き申します。然るにその砌はもはや引き鳥の頃に相向かい、日数に相成り前顕の懸かり難渋いたす儀にございますれば、先ず正月末から彼岸までの間、年々気候の遅速に随い右時節の儀は時々申し出る義にございます条、日数十五日ほどの間、雁追い立ての義を御指し緩めが仰せ付けられるような御道はございませんでしょうか。もしそうであれば百姓共大いに相喜び、重々有り難く存じ奉る処から、自然心得方から取り改め究め方よく行き届くような取り締まりに相成り申すべきと存じます。勿論右申し出の通りに仰せ付けられるにおいては、何とぞ不心得の追い方等いたさないよう申し付け、なお亦究め方の義は御相談に相及び申す義にございます。この段何分とも然るべく様御評議を賜りたく存じます。以上

However, from around the twentieth day of the first month until the spring equinox is the time of grain formation and sprouting, so if [the birds] feed destructively during this period, [the crops] will not regenerate. If the farmers' labor of several months becomes worthless in an instant, this would cause particular worry, as we have heard. However, at that time it approaches the season when migratory birds depart, and the days increase, making the previous responsibilities difficult to manage. Therefore, from the end of the first month until the spring equinox, following the annual variation in climate timing, regarding this seasonal matter that is reported from time to time, would it be possible to grant some relaxation of the prohibition on goose-driving for approximately fifteen days? If so, the farmers would greatly rejoice and be deeply grateful, and naturally their understanding would improve, leading to better compliance and more thorough enforcement.
