此比邊路体之者多相見へ右者地盤

近郷ニ相限候而申ニも無之押なへて之事

見聞懸以書付申出候様与頭庄屋へ

この頃、路頭に迷う者が多く見受けられる。これらの者は地元の
流浪者や路頭に迷う者だけでなく、町中には
住居等を持つ者たちが生活のため、あちこちで物乞いに
出ているような類もあると思われるため、御山下に続いて
名東郡辺りで多人数になっているのか、または
近郷に限られた話なのか、それとも全般的な事
なのか。もっとも他国の路頭に迷う者は少なく、村の人別帳に載る者で
生活に困って路頭に迷う者が多いのか、この頃の様子を申し出るよう
並びに生活に困って路頭に迷う者はかなり多人数なのか
見聞したことを書付で申し出るよう与頭・庄屋へ
申し聞かせること。右について明朝までに申し出るよう

一、亥八月十四日、御郡代様が直接松江島三郎・
後藤庄助・阿部源左衛門三人をお召し出しになり、「当年については
格別の豊作ではあるが、もはや芋や芋茎などをそのまま
捨て置いているようにも聞こえ、甚だけしからぬことと思し召される。
この時節からあらゆることに気を付け、無駄遣いなど心掛け

Recently, many destitute people have been observed. These individuals are not only
local vagrants and homeless persons, but among the townspeople there are also
those who have residences but go out begging from place to place
to make ends meet. Therefore, following the situation at Oyamashita,
has the number of people increased greatly in the Myōdō District area, or
is this limited to nearby villages, or is this
a general phenomenon? Furthermore, are there few destitute people from other provinces, while
many of those listed in village population registers are struggling
to survive and becoming homeless? Report on recent conditions,
and also report in writing what you have seen and heard regarding whether
the number of people struggling with poverty and homelessness is quite large.
Convey this to group leaders and village headmen. Submit reports on the above by tomorrow morning.
