差上申一札之事
一 当村石切之儀村中取調書上仕候処此外
壱人茂無御座候
一 石切稼ニ罷出旅先ニ而石切弟子等召抱不申候
猶又旅先実躰ニ相廻り可申候様具ニ申聞候処
一々承知仕候若此上ニ茂不吟味成儀有之候而
後日御聞被成候ハヽ其元ゟ早速御注進可被成候
其上如何様之御咎筋被 仰付候共少茂御恨
無御座候為後日連印証文仍而如件

差し上げ申し上げる一札の件
一、当村の石切の件について、村中で取り調べて書き上げいたしましたところ、この他に一人もおりません。
一、石切稼業に出かけて行く旅先において、石切の弟子等を抱えることはいたしません。なお、旅先では実情をよく見回り申すよう、詳しく申し聞かせましたところ、一つ一つ承知いたしました。もしこの上にも不注意な事があって、後日お聞きになりましたら、そちらから早速ご報告くださいますよう、その上でどのようなお咎めを仰せ付けられましても、少しも恨みはございません。後日の証拠として連印の証文、よって件の如し。

A formal pledge submitted
Article 1: Regarding the stone cutters in our village, we have investigated throughout the village and compiled this report, and there are no others besides these.
Article 1: When going out to work as stone cutters at distant places, they shall not take on stone cutter apprentices while traveling. Furthermore, we have instructed them in detail to carefully observe the actual conditions at their destinations, and they have acknowledged each point. If there should be any negligent matters beyond this point that come to your attention later, please report immediately from your end, and whatever punishment may be imposed upon us, we harbor no resentment whatsoever. This joint-signature document serves as evidence for the future, therefore as stated herein.
