この水上は、若狭から丹波の園部郡へ出て、清滝川へ落ち合い、大井、梅津、となせ、桂と、各所にて名が変わるものです。

伏見から来る人は、京に入らず、直接に下鳥羽の向こうの明神へ出て、沓掛へ直道があります。《伏見より三里》 また大坂から上る人は、淀から上がって、水垂れより青の光明寺へ出るのがよいでしょう。ただし、向こうの明神から沓掛までは、小松原の細道が多くて紛らわしいため、夜道は避けるべきです。
