○痘瘡患者に使用した膳椀皿鉢の類は石炭酸水に浸してよく洗わなければ他人に使用してはならない。

○痘瘡患者の便器には予め硫酸鉄水［水三升二合に硫酸鉄二斤を溶かしたもの］を少量入れておき、大小便の排泄のたびに直ちに取り除くべきである。

○痘瘡患者の死骸は石炭酸水で湿らせた布で包み、二十四時間以内に埋葬すべきである。下男下女といえども、みだりに死骸の周辺に近寄ることを戒めるべきである。

○Bowls, dishes, plates, and other tableware used by smallpox patients must not be used by others unless they have been soaked in carbolic acid water and thoroughly washed.

○In the chamber pots of smallpox patients, a small amount of iron sulfate water [made by dissolving 2 kin of iron sulfate in 3 shō 2 gō of water] should be placed in advance, and the contents should be removed immediately after each bowel movement or urination.

○The corpse of a smallpox patient should be wrapped in cloth moistened with carbolic acid water and buried within twenty-four hours. Even servants and maids should be warned against carelessly approaching the vicinity of the corpse.

○When a smallpox patient's sickroom becomes empty because the patient has been moved elsewhere or has died,
