三囲稲荷（みめくりいなり）社
元禄（けんろく）の頃（ころ）当社（たうしや）境内（けいたい）に
一老嫗（ひとりのうは）あり参詣（さんけい）の徒（ともから）
神供（しく）をさゝくる時（とき）この
老嫗（うは）田面（たのも）にむかひ柏掌（てをうて）は
一つの狐（きつね）いつくともなく来（きた）り
これを食（くら）ふ老嫗（うは）世に
あらすなりしより後（のち）
狐もまた出（いて）すおなり
次（つき）に記（しる）せし其角（きかく）か
句（く）は此事（このこと）を
いへる

三囲稲荷（みめぐりいなり）社
元禄（1688-1704年）の頃、当社の境内に
一人の老婆がおり、参詣の人々が
神供（神への供え物）を捧げる時、この
老婆が田んぼの方を向いて手を打つと、
一匹の狐がどこからともなくやって来て、
これを食べていた。老婆が亡くなってから後は、
狐もまた出て来なくなった。
次に記した其角の
句は、この出来事を
詠んだ

Mimeguri Inari Shrine
Around the Genroku period (1688-1704), there was
an old woman in the precincts of this shrine, and when pilgrims
offered sacred offerings (food offerings to the gods),
this old woman would face the rice fields and clap her hands,
whereupon a fox would come from nowhere
and eat the offerings. After the old woman
passed away,
the fox also stopped appearing.

describes this
