写壱通宛諸番頭江月番御家老稲葉采女《割書：正

其外諸向江者致書添相渡之
博奕好色ハ従先代之法令厳重ニ候処近頃
諸士之内其品有之様ニ相聞候面々番組并其
子共ニ至迄常々心を付未発之節可加異見
事候今度可遂吟味候得共 思慮有之故先
不及其儀候猶又番組之輩江万端相慎候様ニ
可申聞候以上

諸番頭江右之書付を以被 仰渡候間何茂為
心得申聞候支配之者組等有之輩者無油断
可被申付候

一、四月十五日、御本丸において左の通り仰せ出され候。御直筆の写し一通ずつ諸番頭へ月番御家老稲葉采女正方が相渡し之。
その外諸向へは書き添えをして相渡し之。
博打好色は先代からの法令において厳重に候ところ、近頃諸士の内にその品がある様子に相聞こえ候。面々番組並びにその子供に至るまで、常々心を付け、未発の節に異見を加えるべき事に候。今度吟味を遂げるべく候えども、思慮があり故に、先ずその儀に及ばず候。なお又番組の輩へ万端慎み候様に申し聞かせるべく候。以上
四月十五日
諸番頭へ右の書付をもって仰せ渡され候間、いずれも心得のため申し聞かせ候。支配の者、組等がある輩は油断なく申し付けるべく候。

On the 15th day of the 4th month, the following was proclaimed at the main castle keep. Copies of the direct written order were distributed one each to all unit commanders by the monthly senior retainer Inaba Uneme Masanori.
To all other departments, additional written instructions were provided.
Gambling and licentiousness have been strictly prohibited by laws from the previous generation, but recently it has been heard that some among the retainers engage in such conduct. All unit members and even their children should constantly be vigilant, and admonishment should be given before such behavior manifests. An investigation should be conducted this time, but due to careful consideration, such action will not be taken for now. Furthermore, all unit members should be instructed to exercise restraint in all matters. The above.

Since this written directive has been issued to all unit commanders, everyone should be informed for their understanding. Those who have subordinates under their command or in their units should issue instructions without negligence.
