「私の家来本多孫太郎の件、当月十日頃より病気にかかったところ、疱瘡になり、色々と養生いたしましたが叶わず、当二十三日に死去いたしました由、ただいま在所より申し遣わし候。右の趣、御意を得るため使者をもって申し入れ候。以上」

一、二月二日、霊巌島御中屋敷御小屋掛が出来上がったにつき、梅姫様が中務大輔昌平様御屋敷（浅草）よりお帰りになった
一、二月六日、御手伝御普請場へ御見分のためお出向きになった
一、二月九日、本多孫太郎長員死去のところ、養子大蔵長教がまだ若年の件であるので、府中仕置等諸事について松平主馬正恒・本多民部成広両人が申し談じ取り扱うよう主馬・民部へ仰せ付けられた。右の趣、主馬が府中へ赴き大蔵並びに家老共へ申し聞かせる旨、かつまた家督の件も間違いなく仰せ出されるので、その段も内々に申し聞かせる旨を仰せ出されたにつき、主馬が府中へ赴き右の趣を大蔵並びに家老共へ申し聞かせた
一、二月十一日、寄合佐野又太郎影賞をもって本多孫太郎長員牌前へ（府中龍泉寺にて）

"Regarding my retainer Honda Magotarō, he fell ill around the 10th of this month, contracted smallpox, and despite various treatments, it was to no avail, and he died on the 23rd of this month, as just reported from his domain. I am sending a messenger to inform you of this matter to obtain your acknowledgment. The above."

1. On the 2nd day of the 2nd month, since the temporary buildings at the middle residence on Reiganjima were completed, Princess Ume returned from the residence of Nakatsukasa-no-taifu Masahira (in Asakusa).
1. On the 6th day of the 2nd month, [the lord] went out to inspect the construction site where he was assisting.
1. On the 9th day of the 2nd month, regarding the death of Honda Magotarō Nagataka, since his adopted son Ōkura Naganori is still young, it was ordered that Matsudaira Shume Masatsune and Honda Minbu Narihiro should consult together and handle all affairs including the administration of Fuchū domain. Regarding this matter, Shume was to go to Fuchū and inform Ōkura and the senior retainers, and also since the succession matter would definitely be announced, he was also to privately inform them of this. Accordingly, Shume went to Fuchū and informed Ōkura and the senior retainers of these matters.
1. On the 11th day of the 2nd month, through yoriai Sano Matatarō Kagesada, [something was done] before the memorial tablet of Honda Magotarō Nagataka (at Ryūsenji Temple in Fuchū).
