年以前相極候分ハ新金銀にても其員数
たるへし尤子年以来相極候品ハ半減たるへ

且又割合改り候ハ宝永以来の銀斗之事ニ候得者
新金銀銭両替或ハ売買之直段等ニ付紛敷

罷出候処左之通御書付被相渡之
現代語訳
相対(私的契約)で雇った者や奉公人の類は、近来の給金銀員数を用いてはならず、なお相対次第とすべきこと
付記:元禄九子年以来、金銀の品位が悪くなり続けたという理由で別途金銀を遣わした類は、元高を新金銀で遣わす以上は、増金銀は停止すべきこと
一、合力等の入用の積もりをもって決めた類は、元禄九子年以前に決めた分は新金銀でもその員数とすべし。もっとも子年以来決めた品は半減すべきこと
右の通り堅く守るべし。この外の儀は書面の趣旨に准ずべし。
かつまた割合が改まったのは宝永以来の銀のみのことであるから、新金銀銭の両替あるいは売買の直段等について紛らわしい手立てを仕すにおいては、必ず御評議の上で厳科に処すべきである。
戌閏十月
一、同日大目付松平石見守殿より申し来る。御留守居宮北十郎左衛門(割書:定由)が罷出たところ、左の通り御書付を渡された。

For those employed through private contracts (aitai) and servants: the recent salary amounts in gold and silver shall not be used, but shall remain subject to private arrangements
Addendum: For cases where additional gold and silver were given separately due to the deteriorating quality of gold and silver since the 9th year of Genroku (year of the Rat), once the original amounts are paid in new gold and silver, the additional payments shall be discontinued
1. For items determined based on calculations for financial assistance and other expenses: amounts determined before the 9th year of Genroku (year of the Rat) shall remain the same even with new gold and silver. However, items determined since the year of the Rat shall be reduced by half
The above shall be strictly observed. For other matters, the intent of this document shall serve as precedent.
Moreover, since the change in exchange rates applies only to silver from the Hōei era onward, anyone who employs confusing methods regarding exchange rates or sale prices of new gold, silver, and copper coins shall certainly be subject to severe punishment after deliberation.

1. On the same day, a message came from Ōmetsuke Matsudaira Iwami-no-kami. When the deputy (goryūsui) Miyanishi Jūrōzaemon (marginal note: Sadayoshi) appeared, the following written notice was given to him.
