利欲の鳥
利欲の鳥は不義の富を願い、常に浮かべる雲の上に舞い遊び、頭が二つあって二心がある。偽りのみ多く、人を惑わす鳥である。
この鳥はこの娑婆にあって、慈悲善根の心が少しもなく、我が身に得になることがあれば、人の難儀に及ぶことをわきまえず、不義不仁の金銀を貪り溜め、一生を有財餓鬼の火宅に苦しみ足ることを知らない強欲の人。死してのち、その魂魄は

高利の地獄へ落ち、この鳥と化して中有に迷い苦しむのである。人たる者は恐れ慎むべし。この鳥にならぬよう心がけ給え。

The Bird of Greed
The bird of greed desires ill-gotten wealth, constantly dancing and playing above the floating clouds. It has two heads and thus a duplicitous heart. It is full of falsehoods and deceives people.
This bird exists in this world of suffering, having no compassion or善根 (virtuous deeds) in its heart whatsoever. When there is something profitable for itself, it does not consider the hardships it causes others. It greedily hoards gold and silver obtained through injustice and inhumanity, spending its entire life suffering in the burning house of a wealthy ghost, not knowing satisfaction in its avarice. falls into the hell of usury and transforms into this bird, wandering and suffering in the intermediate state between death and rebirth. Those who are human should fear and be cautious. Take care not to become this bird.
