玄蕃方より申し聞かされ候。」役所へは組の者代る代る相詰め、御用の儀は同役取扱いの。」東郷仁右衛門申し聞け候は、甚左衛門指控仰せ付けられ候、仁右衛門兄弟の事に候間、如何致すべきや。去年江戸表にて高坂孫七指控仰せ付けられ候節、一家とも遠慮伺い申すに及ばず、もっとも通路人も入り申さず候に付き、この度通路も如何致すべきかと申し聞け候に付き、挨拶せしめ候は、上より仰せ付けられ候指控の事に候間、伺い遠慮同事に取扱い申すべき旨、玄蕃方より申し聞かされ候間、左様相心得べき旨申し聞け候処、右甚左衛門方へ通路の儀、仁右衛門方より相達し候段、又々断り申し聞け候。同晦日甚左衛門指控御免。
ただし右の趣き候処、延享三寅七月九日、御先物頭岡三郎右衛門御門所の儀に付き差控罷り在り候節、三郎右衛門儀自身相慎み候のみにて通路統べて相願い申さず。この節御評議の上、伺い遠慮とは差控候儀は一同軽く仰せ付けに候へば、三郎右衛門取扱いの通り向後差控に通路は相願うに及ばざる旨、民部方より申し聞かされ、委細達し御聴、右の通り向後相極めの。

Therefore, how should passage be handled this time?" In response to this inquiry, the reply was: "Since this is house arrest ordered from above, it should be handled the same as inquiry and restraint, as communicated by Genba, so this should be understood accordingly." However, regarding passage to Jinzaemon's residence, this was communicated from Niemon's side, and this was again formally reported. On the last day of the same month, Jinzaemon was pardoned from house arrest.
However, regarding this matter, on the 9th day of the 7th month of Enkyo 3rd year (Year of the Tiger), when Senior Ashigaru Commander Oka Saburoemon was ordered to remain in restraint regarding gate duties, Saburoemon only exercised personal restraint and did not request permission for any passage. At this time, after deliberation, it was determined that inquiry and restraint, namely house arrest, are all lightly imposed punishments, so following Saburoemon's handling, henceforth for house arrest there is no need to request passage permissions, as communicated by Minbu, with details reaching the lord's attention, and this was established as precedent for the future.
