御礼には出向かず遠慮の伺いを差し出したところ、差し控えを命じられた。右の出入りの者の妻も十日間の押込を命じられた。
但し通路堀庄兵衛も、その際遠慮を伺ったところ差し控えを命じられた。但し五日間。右庄兵衛に差し控えを命じられた理由は、右の始末を早速月番御目付へ報告すべきところ、報告が延引したためである。
一、遠慮中に雪が積もった際は、通路の者【挿入】弘化二年十一月十九日、人足の者という達しもあり 家来を召し連れて出向き雪下ろしを行う旨、断りを申し聞かせる筈である。御目付は承知しておくこと。
一、弘化二年十一月十九日、先日から瀧仁左衛門が御咎中のところ、追々雪が積もり仁左衛門の居宅が潰れたと、通路坂部多曾右衛門から月番山本源左衛門へ申し達しがあった。但し仁左衛門は閉門中である。これにより仁左衛門は建て残った台所向きで慎み、家内は小長屋で慎んでいる旨を、即刻御家老中へ相達し、改組の者を遣わして書付で申し達したので、更に御家老中へ申し達した。もっとも坂部多曾右衛門の番頭恒岡安左衛門からも書面で達しがあった。
一、翌二十日、多曾右衛門の番頭恒岡安左衛門から評定所において左の通り書付で問い合わせがあったので、同役で評議の上御家老中へ相伺い、附紙で指図に及んだ。

一、享保十六年十二月二十六日、御城代狛市右衛門遠慮中、雪が降り積もり屋敷前の雪道を明けることが難しく、如何すべきかと【黒塗り】与力田中三右衛門が相達したので、与三左衛門方へ相達したところ、公儀から道を明けるのが然るべき旨申し聞かされ、野田仁右衛門へ申し付け雪道を明けさせた留めがある。案ずるに狛伊勢が通路であれば、公儀から道明けをするよう成ったのは、御城内のことゆえか、未だ考え中である。
一、享保十七年七月二十一日、この度酒井六郎右衛門が逼塞を命じられ置かれているところ、通路酒井十之丞が月番栃屋半右衛門へ申し聞かせたのは、御城下出火の節、六郎右衛門方へ火が近く成り立ち退く仕合の時分には、十之丞が出向いて立ち退かせたい。もっとも十之丞はその節相詰めている役所を明ける。且つまた十之丞当番の節、左様のことがある時は家来を遣わし六郎右衛門を立ち退かせたい旨を御家老中へ相達したところ、勝手次第仕るべき旨仰せ出された。この段兼ねて承り置くようにと申し聞かせた。
一、同年同月二十三日、江口次郎兵衛はこの度逼塞を命じられ置かれているところ、花木権太夫方から次郎兵衛方へ明け長持を願い置いたのを取り出したい旨○【挿入】平尾新五兵衛が申し聞かせた ので采女方へ御目付月番から相伺ったところ、勝手次第取り出すよう申し聞かされ、その段新五兵衛へ申し聞かせた。但し新五兵衛は次郎兵衛の通路である。同二十四日、新五兵衛が次郎兵衛方へ通路として出向いた節、右明け長持を取り出した由断りを申し聞かせた。

[Continuation from previous page] ...did not go out for the thanksgiving ceremony and submitted a request for discretionary confinement, whereupon he was ordered into house arrest. The wife of the aforementioned visitor was also ordered into ten days of confinement.
However, intermediary Hori Shōbee also requested discretionary confinement at that time and was ordered into house arrest for five days. The reason Shōbee was ordered into house arrest was that he should have immediately reported the incident to the monthly duty inspector but delayed his report.
1. During periods of discretionary confinement when snow accumulates, the intermediary [insertion] Kōka 2nd year, November 19th, there was also a directive regarding laborers should lead retainers to remove snow, with proper notification given. The inspector should be aware of this.
1. On November 19th, Kōka 2nd year, while Taki Jinzaemon had been under punishment, snow gradually accumulated and Jinzaemon's residence collapsed, as reported by intermediary Sakabe Tasōemon to monthly duty official Yamamoto Genzaemon. However, Jinzaemon was under house confinement. Consequently, Jinzaemon was confined to the remaining kitchen area while his family was confined to a small tenement. This was immediately reported to the senior councilors, and inspectors were sent with written reports, which was further reported to the senior councilors. Moreover, there was also a written communication from Sakabe Tasōemon's assistant Tsuneoka Yasuzaemon.

On December 26th, Kyōhō 16th year, during castle deputy Koma Ichiemon's period of discretionary confinement, snow fell and accumulated, making it difficult to clear the snow path in front of his residence. When [redacted] assistant Tanaka Sanemon reported asking what should be done, this was communicated to Yosanzaemon, who replied that the authorities said the path should be cleared. Instructions were given to Noda Jinemon to clear the snow path, and this is on record. I surmise that since Koma Ise was the intermediary, the reason authorities ordered the path cleared might be because it concerned castle grounds, though this is still under consideration.

On July 21st, Kyōhō 17th year, while Sakai Rokurōemon was under confinement, intermediary Sakai Jūnosuke informed monthly duty official Tochiya Hanemon that in case of fire in the castle town, when fire approaches Rokurōemon's residence requiring evacuation, Jūnosuke would go to evacuate him. Of course, Jūnosuke would leave his assigned post at that time. Furthermore, when Jūnosuke is on duty and such situations arise, he would send retainers to evacuate Rokurōemon. When this was reported to the senior councilors, they replied "handle as you see fit." He was told to keep this in mind for the future.

On the 23rd of the same month and year, while Eguchi Jirōbee was under confinement, [insertion] Hirao Shingobee reported that he wanted to retrieve a storage chest that Hanaki Gontayū had requested to leave at Jirōbee's residence. When the monthly duty inspector consulted with Uneme's office, they were told to retrieve it as they saw fit, and Shingobee was so informed. However, Shingobee was Jirōbee's intermediary. On the 24th, when Shingobee went to Jirōbee's residence as intermediary, he reported that he had retrieved the aforementioned storage chest.
