一小役人以下慎伺等之儀小役人以下御咎之部ニ出之
一弟子御咎ニ付其師遠慮伺之儀支配之部ニ出之　享保十二未六月五日嶋田九八郎弟子与助
　御追放之節九八郎遠慮相伺候処不及其儀旨
一享保十二未十二月廿五日於府中本多大蔵方作事長屋拾間余当廿二日之夜出火致焼失尤屋形
　廻其外ハ別条も無之由然共構之内之儀ニ候間遠慮可仕哉与御家老中へ被相伺候処不及遠慮
　旨被申越候由右衛門方儀左衛門へ被申聞候
一同十五戌二月廿九日田代万貞屋敷台所之上煙出早速打消火消之面々ハ不罷出候然処万貞遠慮伺之儀岡
　部玄伯評定所へ罷出相伺候処少々之儀ニ而火消も不罷出程之事ニ候間不及遠慮旨御家老中被申聞候
一同十七子六月廿五日御ふしん奉行鈴木源兵衛組之者不調法ニ付遠慮伺加藤所左衛門於評定所相達不及其儀旨尤評定留ニ出ル
一寛保二戌八月十三日高屋源右衛門御暇被下候ニ付御奉行岩上梶太夫儀源右衛門為ニ伯父ニ付遠慮伺候処不及其儀但
　御目通へ罷出之儀ハ御内意相伺罷出候様松平主馬方被申聞候

　市郎兵衛不埒之儀有之ニ付立替被仰付候跡之儀ハ自分抱ニ被仰
　付候間宜く取扱旨演説ニ而申達候然処主計儀遠慮伺
　差出不及其議儀旨
　　但以来ハ御用書無之御目付ゟ移りを以申付候儀ハ伺差出ニ不
　　　及旨相極候事

達すべきかと御奉行が問い合わせたため、その儀に及ばない旨を返答した事

一、小役人以下の慎み伺い等の儀は小役人以下御咎めの部に出ている

一、弟子の御咎めにつきその師が遠慮伺いの儀は支配の部に出ている　享保十二年六月五日、嶋田九八郎の弟子与助が御追放の節、九八郎が遠慮を相伺ったところ、その儀に及ばない旨

一、享保十二年十二月二十五日、府中の本多大蔵方作事長屋十間余りが当二十二日の夜出火して焼失した。もっとも屋形回りその外は別条もなかったとのこと。しかしながら構内の儀であるから遠慮すべきかと御家老中へ相伺ったところ、遠慮に及ばない旨を申し越されたと右衛門方が儀左衛門へ申し聞かせた

一、同十五年二月二十九日、田代万貞屋敷の台所の上で煙が出て、早速打ち消したが火消しの面々は出動しなかった。然るところ万貞の遠慮伺いの儀を岡部玄伯が評定所へ出向いて相伺ったところ、少々の儀で火消しも出動しない程の事であるから遠慮に及ばない旨を御家老中が申し聞かせた

一、同十七年六月二十五日、御普請奉行鈴木源兵衛組の者が不調法につき遠慮伺い、加藤所左衛門が評定所において相達したが、その儀に及ばない旨。もっとも評定留に出る

一、寛保二年八月十三日、高屋源右衛門が御暇を下されたにつき、御奉行岩上梶太夫は源右衛門の伯父であるため遠慮を伺ったところ、その儀に及ばないが、御目通へ出向く儀は御内意を相伺って出向くよう松平主馬方が申し聞かせた

一、文政七年閏八月二十五日、御茶道多田幸琢が侍格を削られ御国追放
　　幸琢の兄　　　　　　　田辺奥左衛門
　　同断の弟　　　　　　　山本庄七
　右は伺いの通り遠慮して罷り在るよう
　　同人の甥　　小姓　　　渡辺忠四郎

一、文政三年二月五日、跡部主計組の土田市郎兵衛という者に不埒の儀があったため、
　その段を御家老中へ相達した上で、月番鈴木十左衛門宅へ主計を招き、右の
　市郎兵衛に不埒の儀があったため立て替えを仰せ付けられた。跡の儀は自分抱えに仰せ
　付けられたから宜しく取り扱う旨を演説にて申し達した。然るところ主計が遠慮伺いを
　差し出したが、その議に及ばない旨
　　但し以来は御用書なく御目付より移りをもって申し付ける儀は伺いを差し出すに及ば
　　　ない旨を相極めた事

1. Matters of teachers' discretionary confinement inquiries due to their disciples' punishments appear in the supervision section. On June 5th, Kyōhō 12th year, when Shimada Kuhachirō's disciple Yosuke was banished from the domain, Kuhachirō inquired about discretionary confinement but was told it was unnecessary.

1. On December 25th, Kyōhō 12th year, over ten rooms of Honda Ōkura's construction barracks in the capital caught fire on the night of the 22nd and burned down. However, the main building surroundings and other areas were unaffected. Nevertheless, since it was within the compound, they inquired with the senior councilors whether discretionary confinement was necessary, but were told it was unnecessary, which Uemon reported to Gizaemon.

1. On February 29th, Kyōhō 15th year, smoke appeared above the kitchen of Tashiro Mansada's residence and was quickly extinguished, but the firefighting personnel did not respond. However, regarding Mansada's discretionary confinement inquiry, Okabe Genpaku went to the council chamber to inquire, and the senior councilors said that since it was a minor matter that did not require firefighter response, discretionary confinement was unnecessary.

1. On June 25th, Kyōhō 17th year, regarding a discretionary confinement inquiry due to misconduct by someone in Construction Magistrate Suzuki Genbee's unit, Katō Shozaemon reported at the council chamber that it was unnecessary. This also appears in the council records.

On August 13th, Kanpō 2nd year, when Takaya Gen'emon was granted leave, Magistrate Iwakami Kajidayū, being Gen'emon's uncle, inquired about discretionary confinement but was told it was unnecessary. However, regarding appearing for audience, Matsudaira Shume's office advised to inquire privately before appearing.

1. On August 25th (intercalary), Bunsei 7th year, tea ceremony master Tada Kōtaku had his samurai status revoked and was banished from the domain:

1. On February 5th, Bunsei 3rd year, a person named Tsuchida Ichirōbee from Atobe Kazue's unit committed misconduct.
After reporting this to the senior councilors, monthly duty officer Suzuki Jūzaemon summoned Kazue to his residence and informed him through speech that Ichirōbee had committed misconduct and was ordered to be replaced, and that the aftermath would be handled under his personal custody, so he should handle it appropriately. However, when Kazue submitted a discretionary confinement inquiry, he was told it was unnecessary.
　　However, it was established that henceforth, for matters ordered through inspector transfers without official documents, inquiries need not be submitted.
