通路

一、遠慮の者の方への通路の儀は、厳格な御式目にはないが、前々から取り扱っている趣旨により、身近な者が相願えば一人通路するよう申し渡している。もっとも目付中へ相断るべき旨を申し聞かせている　延享四年

　　但し江戸表定府御咎めの節、両人ずつ通路を相願う儀は江戸表御咎めの部に出ている

一、享保十六年十月十二日、大御番波々伯部源之丞が口上書をもって「堀新左衛門が昨日閉門を仰せ付けられたため、出火等又は用事を相達する節に通路したい。新左衛門の妻は源之丞の母と兄弟であるから相達する」
　右の願いの通り仰せ付けられた。もっとも御目付共へ相断るよう

一、閉門者への通路人が罷り越す節、番頭より度々に一度ずつ断り、通路人よりは度々往来共に相断る筈　享保年間

　　但し医者を呼ぶ節に断る儀は御咎め中病人の部に出ている

一、遠慮者への通路人が罷り越す節、最初一度番頭より断り、通路人よりは罷り越す度々に一度ずつ断るべき事　右同断【朱書き】一、与力が通路する共その支配頭より者は断りなし

1. Regarding passage to those under discretionary confinement, while there are no strict formal regulations, following previous practices, when close relatives request, one person is permitted passage. However, they must inform the inspectors. Enkyō 4th year

　　However, when requesting passage for two people at a time during punishment while on permanent duty in Edo, this appears in the Edo punishment section.

1. On October 12th, Kyōhō 16th year, Ōban guard Hababe Gennosuke submitted a written statement: "Since Hori Shinzaemon was ordered into house confinement yesterday, I wish passage for fires or urgent business communications. Shinzaemon's wife is sister to Gennosuke's mother, so I report this."
　This request was granted as petitioned. However, they must inform the inspectors.

　For discretionary confinement inquired from below, the same applies with notifications before and after, and this procedure will continue henceforth.
