現代語訳

一　安永八年（亥年）八月九日、御徒目付山岡【次か】右衛門が申し聞かせたのは、今日江戸表から囚人どもが道中滞りなく到着した旨、それによって特に変わった事もない旨、道中の詳細を申し聞かせた。町与力杉田作兵衛も右の趣旨で帰参し報告した。また秋田七郎兵衛組の帰山文蔵、石原拾五郎組の高嶋忠四郎、その外町奉行組四人、御先筒組九人も右同様に滞りなく付き添って行き帰ってきた旨を報告した。

一　同日、この度囚人三人の者どもが先月二十三日に江戸表へ差し立てられ、町与力杉田作兵衛、御徒目付山岡次右衛門並びに役組の者両人、その外警固の者どもが引き連れて行ったところ、滞りなく今四時に町奉行渥美新右衛門の御役宅へ到着し、新右衛門役所の白洲へ引き出して江戸表の町御奉行所での白状と相違ないかと新右衛門が尋ねたところ、少しも相違ございません旨を申し聞き、直ちに入牢を申し渡した。その節善十郎が出席し、杉田作兵衛、山岡次右衛門は縁側へ出て、与力三人並びに御徒目付関幸左衛門は次の間へ出て、取り扱いが滞りなく済んだ。それから役組の者両人に申し付けて水落辺まで見送らせ置いた者が、新右衛門役所から牢屋へ差し越す際に見届けを申し付けたところ、滞りなく入牢した旨を帰って申し聞き、すぐに酒井典膳方へ申し達した。

　　　先年江戸表において出奔した吉田一貞が老母方へ帰ってきた由
　　　それにより揚屋へ入れられたので各々申し談じて取り計らうべし
　但し同八月十一日老母の願いにより揚屋を免じられ、十月五日一貞に蟄居が申し付けられ、母へ二人扶持が下し置かれた。しかし寅年十月二日蟄居を免じられ、御奉行支配無格にて江戸表へ差し越された。

一　郡牢は以前田原町にあり、寛保二年（戌年）十月頃の評定留に見える。

一　文化三年（寅年）二月、元御武具方下代が御勘定所において吟味が済み揚屋へ入れられた節の取り扱いは吟味僉議の条に出ている。

一　文化五年（辰年）四月二十八日、先年御国立退を申し付けられた御料理人村井丹次の養父金三郎という者が、加藤源八郎組の寺嶋太次右衛門という者方へ行き、法外の事どもを申し募ったため、様々に申し宥めたけれども一向に用いず、かえってどのような事を働くかも計り難く甚だ迷惑している段を、源八郎並びに丹次一家の内の徳山茂太夫が出てきて申し達したため、その段を御家老中へ申し達したところ、町奉行白石十右衛門へ御法の通り取り扱うべき旨を大谷丹下方が申し渡したため、十郎右衛門手先の者を左の通り差し出して召し捕らせ入牢を申し付けた。右召し捕る節は前々の通り見届けのため組の者両人を差し出した。

1. Anei 8 (Year of the Boar), August 9: Foot inspector Yamaoka [Ji?]emon reported that today prisoners from Edo arrived without incident during their journey, and there were no particular changes. He gave detailed reports about the journey. Town assistant Sugita Sakubei also returned and reported the same. Additionally, Kaeriyama Bunzō from Akita Shichirōbei's group, Takashima Chūshirō from Ishihara Jūgorō's group, four others from the town magistrate group, and nine from the rifle corps group also accompanied them without incident and reported their return.

1. On the same day, three prisoners who had been sent to Edo on the 23rd of last month, led by town assistant Sugita Sakubei, foot inspector Yamaoka Jijūemon, two officials from their duty groups, and other guards, arrived without incident at four o'clock at the official residence of town magistrate Atsumi Shinemon. They were brought to the white sand court at Shinemon's office, where Shinemon inquired whether there were any discrepancies from their confessions at the Edo town magistrate's office. When they replied there were no discrepancies whatsoever, imprisonment was immediately ordered. At that time, Zenjūrō was present, Sugita Sakubei and Yamaoka Jijūemon went to the veranda, three assistants and foot inspector Seki Kōzaemon went to the next room, and procedures were completed without incident. Then two officials from the duty groups were ordered to escort them to around Mizuochi area, and when they were sent from Shinemon's office to the prison, observation was ordered, and it was reported upon return that imprisonment proceeded without incident. This was immediately reported to Sakai Tenzen.

1. Four borrowed men to Sugita Sakubei - including one sword-bearer and one duty town group member
1. Three borrowed men to Yamaoka Jijūemon - including one sword-bearer with long spear, two servants, one of whom carries rain gear

1. Two from rifle corps - one relay porter carrying rain gear

1. Bunka 14 (Year of the Ox), June 27:
Yoshida Ichitei, who absconded from Edo in previous years, has returned to his elderly mother's place
Therefore he has been placed in the detention house, so everyone should consult and handle accordingly
However, on August 11 of the same year, the detention house confinement was lifted due to his elderly mother's petition, and on October 5, Ichitei was ordered into house arrest with two-person stipend granted to his mother. However, on October 2 of the Year of the Tiger, house arrest was lifted and he was sent to Edo under magistrate supervision without rank.

Bunka 5 (Year of the Dragon), April 28: Regarding Kanazō, the adoptive father of cook Murai Tanji who had previously been ordered to leave the domain, he went to the residence of Terashima Tajiemon from Katō Genhachirō's group and made various unreasonable demands. Despite various attempts to pacify him, he paid no heed and instead it became impossible to predict what he might do, causing great trouble. When Genhachirō and Tokuyama Shigetayū from Tanji's household reported this matter, it was conveyed to the senior councilors. Town magistrate Shiraishi Jūemon was ordered through Ōtani Tange to handle this according to law, so Jūrōemon's subordinates listed below were sent out to arrest and imprison him. During the arrest, two group members were sent out for observation as had been done previously.
