現代語訳
一 御物頭へ御預け者がある節は、御家老中が御物頭を呼び、「何某について御詮議の趣があるため、その方へ御預けになる」段を申し渡すこと。そうすれば、その段を申し渡された所へ預かり御物頭が行き、受け取って乗物に乗せて私宅へ帰ること。組の者へ昼夜五人ずつ勤番を申し付けること。もっとも右の節、上からその間、所の外回りに竹垣を結ぶこと。右預かり者がいる内は五人扶持を渡すこと。
一 右御預け者が切腹・打首を申し付けられる節、番外はその列の月番、番組は者番頭が申し渡すこと。
一 元禄十二年（卯年）閏九月十八日、御先乗彦坂又兵衛・井上半太夫・御先物頭熊谷小兵衛宅に御預けの御徒長沼五郎左衛門・山元門太夫・中村安兵衛が打首を申し付けられた節、御徒目付へ申し付けて首を打った。もっとも御物頭へ御預けにて打首の節は、その組の小頭へ申し付けて討つ先例もある。
一 右打首を申し付けられる節は、親類身近な者が御暇を下し置かれるようにと願い申し上げる古例がある。
一 元禄五年（申年）十月、宮塚甚兵衛が打首を申し付けられた節、比企佐左衛門が右の通り願い申し上げた。もっとも御暇は下されなかった由。
一 明和八年（卯年）三月、上之橋牢屋の内の無宿与兵衛が破牢したため、牢番両人の御扶持を召し放った。
一 安永九年（子年）六月二十五日、大工町牢内の無宿庄右衛門が一昨二十三日に破牢逃出したため、町奉行鈴木藤十郎が伺いを差し控え、同二十七日三国にて召し捕り、金津から連絡があった。
一 天明八年（申年）十二月三日、上戸村無宿仁左衛門・江州長浜無宿常坊が大工町牢を破って出奔したため、小林又右衛門が遠慮を相伺った事。
一 寛政五年（丑年）六月十日、深坂村出身無宿半五右衛門が城之橋牢を破って逃去したため、郡奉行岡半右衛門が指控え、牢番の御扶持を召し放った事。
但し右半右衛門は同二十三日深坂村にて召し捕った事。
一 同十二年（申年）二月二十二日、勝見地名子出生無宿作太夫という者が城之橋牢を破って逃去し、三月十七日牢番黒沼林太夫・増田吉左衛門の御扶持を召し放った事。
一 本多内蔵助方領内の者をこちらで牢舎を申し付けることはない由、府中へ申し越し牢舎を申し付けることの由。
一 享保五年（子年）六月十一日、水野善左衛門が連絡したのは、山室村と府中知行所二日市村の用水出入を詮議の上、二日市村の不届きのため庄屋一人・長百姓一人を御家老中の差図にて先月二十八日牢舎を申し付けるよう府中役人まで申し遣わしたところ、日数も経ったため出牢を申し付けるよう申し遣わすべき旨を御家老中が申し聞かせた。
一 享保十年（巳年）七月二十一日、池尻村市兵衛という者が金津牢を破って逃去し、行方が分からないため取扱いの記録がある。
一 同十六年（亥年）十月二十一日、鍛冶上総長三郎がこの間親子口論をし、脇指で息子の頭を打ち破ったため、吟味したところ、もっとも折檻のことは仕打ちにもあるが、町人の身で脇指などを取り扱うことは不届き、その上身持ちも良くない品もあるため、後々の締めにもなるので牢舎を申し付けるかと町奉行大宮彦右衛門が相窺った。右入牢を申し付けるよう申し渡した。
一 寛政七年（卯年）正月十四日、御先物頭原田彦八郎が当月御代官所陣屋御手当御用を相守っていたところ、一昨十二日横山弥太夫について御預けが申し付けられたため、諸勤を引き継いで相守るよう申し付けられた事。
一 延享五年（辰年）正月元日、荒川十右衛門・大野一郎左衛門が申し聞かせたのは、大野三左衛門・東新五右衛門について御預人が申し付けられた、拙者ども兄弟のことなので用事がある節は行きたいと思うが、御法の程も案内しないので急いで相願い申すつもりはないが、できることであれば宜しく取り扱ってくれるよう申し聞かせたため、三左衛門・新五右衛門について用事に差し支える事もない義故、前々このような節は通路人に及ばない、もっとも他の出入りは遠慮することだが、十右衛門・一郎左衛門兄弟ということで止むを得ない用事もある趣のため、御家老中へ相達したところ、御預人を置く上は他門の出入りがあってはならないことだが、十右衛門・一郎左衛門は格別の間柄でもあるので、止むを得ない用事の節は往来共に御目付どもへ相断って行くべき旨を本多民部方が申し聞かせ、その段を両人へ申し聞かせた。
一 同年同月十一日、小栗九右衛門の息子権治が申し聞かせたのは、小栗八兵衛の事で御預人が申し付けられた、私は親類なので用事がある節は行きたい、この段宜しく取り扱ってくれるよう聞かれたため、なお又御家老中へ相伺ったところ、同名親類のことでもあるので用事がある節は往来共に御目付どもへ相断って行くべき旨を本多民部方が申し聞かせ、その段を権治へ申し付けた。
一 同年二月二十一日、御預人の御裁許がそれぞれに申し付けられた（一々略す）。
大野三左衛門へ御預けに置かれた岩崎友右衛門について、松井平兵衛へ永く御預けが申し付けられたので引き取り、急度押籠めに指し置くよう平兵衛へ申し渡すべき旨。
小栗八兵衛へ御預けに置かれた南部茂太夫について、野村十兵衛へ永く御預けが申し付けられたので引き取り、急度押籠めに指し置くよう十兵衛へ申し渡すべき旨。
右平兵衛・十兵衛方へ引き取った上、両人共に遠慮して罷り在るよう申し渡すべし。

1. When there are persons to be placed under the custody of gun commanders (mono-gashira), the senior councilors call the gun commander and announce: "Regarding so-and-so, there are matters for investigation, therefore he is being placed in your custody." Upon this announcement, the receiving gun commander goes to collect the person, places him in a palanquin, and returns to his private residence. Five men from the group are assigned to duty shifts day and night. At this time, bamboo fencing is erected around the outside of the premises by order from above. While the custody person is present, a five-person stipend is provided.
1. When such custody persons are ordered to commit seppuku or be executed, those off-duty from that rank's monthly rotation and group members are notified by the group leader.

Genroku 12 (Year of the Rabbit), intercalary September 18: When foot soldiers Naganuma Gorozaemon, Yamamoto Montayu, and Nakamura Yahei, who were in custody at the residences of advance riders Hikosaka Matahei and Inoue Hantayu and advance gun commander Kumagai Kohei, were ordered to be executed, foot inspectors were ordered to carry out the beheading. When those in custody of gun commanders are to be executed, there are also precedents of ordering the group's petty officers to carry out the execution.

1. Tenmei 8 (Year of the Monkey), December 3: Vagrant Jinzaemon from Kamido village and vagrant Jobo from Nagahama in Omi Province broke out of Daiku-machi prison and absconded. Kobayashi Matauemon submitted an inquiry regarding restraint.
1. Kansei 5 (Year of the Ox), June 10: Vagrant Hangouemon from Fukasaka village broke Shirono-hashi prison and escaped. District magistrate Oka Hanuemon was suspended and the prison guard's stipend was revoked.

Kyoho 5 (Year of the Rat), June 11: Mizuno Sanzaemon reported that regarding a water rights dispute between Yamuro village and Futsuka-ichi village (a Fuchu domain holding), after investigation, due to Futsuka-ichi village's misconduct, one village headman and one senior farmer were ordered to be imprisoned on the 28th of last month by direction of the senior councilors, with word sent to Fuchu officials. Since many days have passed, the senior councilors announced that word should be sent to order their release from prison.
1. Kyoho 10 (Year of the Snake), July 21: A man named Ichibei from Ikejiri village broke Kanazu prison and escaped. Since his whereabouts are unknown, there are handling records.
1. Same 16th year (Year of the Boar), October 21: Blacksmith Kazusa Chosaburo had a parent-child quarrel and struck his son's head with a short sword, breaking it. Upon investigation, while discipline may involve striking, for a townsman to handle short swords is improper, and moreover there are signs of poor conduct, so for future restraint, town magistrate Omiya Hikoemon inquired whether imprisonment should be ordered. Imprisonment was ordered.
1. Kansei 7 (Year of the Rabbit), January 14: While advance gun commander Harada Hikohachiro was attending to deputy's office camp maintenance duties this month, custody of Yokoyama Yatadayu was ordered on the 12th, so he was ordered to take over and continue various duties.
1. Enkyo 5 (Year of the Dragon), New Year's Day: Arakawa Juemon and Ono Ichirozaemon reported that Ono Sanzaemon and Azuma Shingoemon had been ordered into custody. Since we are brothers, we would like to visit when there is business, but we are unfamiliar with the legal procedures, so while we do not intend to make urgent petitions, if it is possible, please handle this favorably. Regarding Iwasaki Tomoemon who was in custody of Ono Sanzaemon, he is to be permanently placed in custody of Matsui Heibei, who should take him in and keep him strictly confined.
Regarding Nambu Shigetayu who was in custody of Oguri Hahei, he is to be permanently placed in custody of Nomura Jubei, who should take him in and keep him strictly confined.
After being taken in by Heibei and Jubei respectively, both should be ordered to remain in restraint.
