Enpō 5 (Year of the Snake), May 21: ■no Shirōemon of the castle-keeper group committed irregularities while serving as lending finance magistrate and was placed in custody of gun commander Ichimura Kanuemon, where he committed seppuku as punishment. The witnesses were inspector Niwa Hachizaemon and messenger Akita Rokuuemon. His son Genhachi was placed in custody of gun commander Debuchi Shichibei, but since he was innocent, by merciful grace his life was spared and he was ordered into exile. The inspectors were to announce this with witnesses present, and foot inspectors and foot soldiers were to accompany him to the domain border.

Jōkyō 4 (Year of the Rabbit), February 27: Senior councilor Taki Shukeisuke was placed in custody of gun commander Debuchi Heibei, and his son Heizō in custody of gun commander Suzuki Hikotayū, where they committed seppuku. The witnesses were Murakami Santayū and Kaifuku Kansuke. Heibei assisted Shukeisuke, and Hikotayū assisted Heizō.
1. Genroku 6 (Year of the Rooster), July 8: Castle-keeper Kadona ■■ was placed in custody of gun commander Yagi Heiroku and committed seppuku on the 10th. The witnesses were Takada Kintayū and Imamura Denbei (assistant).
1. Same 8th year (Year of the Boar), May 21: Honda Goroemon, real father of front page Katō Jūzō, was placed in custody and committed seppuku. The assistant was Imamura Denbei.
1. Same 9th year (Year of the Rat), June 9: Chamberlain Obata Niemon was placed in custody of gun commander Matsubara Shirōbei with the same result. The witnesses were Iinuma Kanbei and Hasebe Sobei. From this time, one foot inspector was to be sent, and Yanagishita Sebei went. Matsubara's son Genzaemon served as assistant upon request.

Shimpei was placed in custody of gun commander Ishikawa Jinzaemon and Juseki with gun commander Ōno Sanzaemon, where they committed seppuku. Shimpei's assistant was Jinzaemon, witnesses were Inoue Hantayū, Kazuramaki Tōjibuemon, and one foot inspector. Juseki's assistant was Sanzaemon, witnesses were Tsutsumi Kichizaemon, Hiki Sazaemon, and one foot inspector.
1. Same 7th year (Year of the Tiger), March 14: Yasuda Toyotayū and Ochiai Shichirōbei quarreled. Toyotayū was placed in custody of advance guard Sakakibara Sukesazaemon and Shichirōbei with advance guard Kunieda Koichirō, with the same result. Shichirōbei's assistant was Koichirō, witnesses were Kawazu Zentayū, Negoro Seitayū, and foot inspector Ogata Shigeemon. Toyotayū's assistant was Sukesazaemon, witnesses were Yano Gonpei, Yanada Tarōdayū, and foot inspector Nagata Gidayū.

Punishment
1. When samurai of guard group rank and above are ordered to commit seppuku or be executed, one inspector, one messenger, and one foot inspector shall go as witnesses. However, the number of foot inspectors accompanying is not limited to one.
1. When those below guard group rank are ordered punished, one foot inspector and members of the inspector group shall be sent as attendants.
Note: The same applies to quarrel suicides.
1. When there is execution at the site, the inspectors do not go out; one foot inspector and group members are sent as witnesses.
1. When there is sword testing at the site, one inspector goes out, naturally accompanied by one foot inspector, group officials, etc.
Note: When inspector Masugi Shozaemon went to such a site, he returned without reporting to his lord's presence or notifying anywhere else.
1. Attire: field hakama, mounted with both swords while traveling, lined haori in summer and winter, two attendants, sandal-bearer, document box, spear.
