儀仲ケ間中へ被申達候而御城下十三り四方追払被仰付筈ニ候此段又兵衛へ拙者申聞今日中ニも組之者差添為追

御目付迄被相達則町奉行へ引渡候様被仰付右ニ付玄蕃方遠慮被相伺度旨ニ候得共不及其儀 但玄蕃方
ニ而吟味も有之被相達候儀ニ付如此 但右ニ付町奉行御奉行壱人御目付壱人吟味掛り被仰付候

一 文化二年丑年七月、芦田大学の家来今村儀兵衛に不都合な趣が聞こえたため、押込を仰せ付けられた旨を御家老中が申し聞けたので、大学方へ手紙をもって家来一人を差し出すよう申し遣わしたところ、名代清水三郎兵衛が参ったので、右の儀兵衛に押込を仰せ付けられた段を大学方へ相達するよう申し聞けた。
一 文化元年子年六月十七日、芦田大学方の家来清水七太夫に不埒の儀があり、家名断絶を申し付けられた。
七太夫の祖母は春庵の実母の叔母なので引き取って養育したい旨の届けがあった。 橋本春庵

右の両様の次第をもって御家老中へ御物語を致し置いた。
一 元文二年巳年閏十一月二十八日、狩野永純が当夏まで召し使った下女しゆんに不届きがあったので暇を差し出したところ、その後毎度参って悪口を申すので堪え難く、よろしくお取り扱い下さるよう達しがあった。
一 宝暦六年子年、御目付岡三郎右衛門の口上書は左の通り。口上の覚え
私方に年来召し仕えている下女で、裏御堂門前のあめや四郎兵衛という者の娘でございます。然るところ右の者に不届き至極の儀があったため、先頃下宿させた上、奈良権左衛門へ相達し、当月十日から入牢させ置きました。もっとも折々吟味を遂げたところ、申し分もない儀に決しました。これにより御国の内追払いを仰せ付けて下さるよう願い奉ります。右の趣、御序の節に御家老中へよろしく仰せ達し下さい。以上

御書付 本多大蔵家老共へ申し聞け覚え
近年の御代替以後、孫太郎時分から府中の諸事仕置の趣が福井表の御仕置に相違し、御不審に思し召される儀共があります。孫太郎が存命であれば思し召しも仰せ聞けになる儀でしょうが、死去したのでその儀もありません。代々府中をお預けになっているので仕置の家風もあることでしょうが、この以後は大蔵が年若なので、福井表の御仕置を考え、万端念を入れて申し付けるべきです。重ねて御不審の趣もあれば、家老共の落度と思し召されるので、その節は必ずお仰せ付けになります。兼ねて油断なく委細に申し談じ申し付けるべきです。以上 五月 このほか伊勢方が口上で申し聞けた趣の別紙書付一通を御用箱へ入れ置く。
△一 享保八年卯年四月十三日、芦田右衛門方から内用の由で申し来て参ったところ、左の通り口上書を相渡され、酒井丹下方へ相達したところ勝手次第の旨挨拶があったので、その段を右衛門方へ相達した。私の知行所二上村の七助という者を中間に召し仕えたところ、不届きの儀があったため、御国境まで引き出し十三里四方構いたく存じます。右の趣、月番まで御申し頼み入ります。以上 四月十三日 並川助右衛門殿 芦田右衛門
一 同十一年午年四月五日、芦田右衛門方が月番真杉所左衛門へ申し聞けたのは、去冬まで手前に差し置いた中間市右衛門という者が不届き者なので暇を出したところ、いよいよ不届きの趣があります。もっとも右衛門方の知行所大村の者の由で、只今召し仕えていない者の事故、則ち彦坂又兵衛支配下にあるので、右の市右衛門の儀を仲ヶ間中へ申し達して、御城下十三里四方追払いを仰せ付けられるはずです。この段、又兵衛へ私が申し聞け、今日中にも組の者を差し添えて追払うよう申し聞けるべき旨を申されました。よって右の趣を又兵衛へ即刻申し聞けました。
△一 同十二年未年十一月二十九日、前記の七助の事、老父がいるので赦免を願ったため、今度差し許し在所まで参るよう申し付けました。もっとも福井へは立ち入らないよう申し付けた段を、右衛門方が書付をもって申し聞けました。
一 同十三年申年三月十三日、仙石市太郎の家来坪川沢治という者が先達って欠落の体なので達しがあったところ、参宮した旨で府中まで立ち帰ったため、市太郎方へ召し寄せ押籠に置き、御家老中へ口上書をもって相願い、御城下追放を申し付けた段の断りがありました。
一 同十七年子年十一月二十二日、明石宮内が召し仕えている下人で半田村の者与助に不届きの儀があり、御城下並びに在所へ立ち入らないよう元詰払いで追払いたい儀を、渡辺左仲をもって御家老中へ相達したところ、勝手次第との差図があり、今夜追払う旨を手紙をもって断り申し聞け、半田村支配の皆川平右衛門へその段を申し達しました。
一 同十八年丑年四月二十日、酒井与三左衛門が左の通り口上書を修理方へ相達したところ、勝手次第に致すよう申し聞けられ、その段を与三左衛門方へ相達した。
私の家来青木藤右衛門という者が妻を殺害した段は最前お達し申した通りでございます。千万不届きの仕形と存じます。これにより右の藤右衛門の儀、拝領したく願いでございます。下し置かれれば成敗したく存じます。右の趣、同役中まで御申達し下さい。以上
四月二十日 西尾源太左衛門殿 酒井与三左衛門
ただし右の妻は外へ奉公していたところ、度々藤右衛門へ悪口等を申し、先夜も来てつかみ付き喰い付きなどして堪忍し難い趣が藤右衛門の口上書にありました。
一 同年十一月二十七日、酒井玄蕃方の家来中小姓高橋段蔵という者が偽札をしたため、口上書をもって右の段蔵を上へ指し上げたい旨を御目付まで相達し、則ち町奉行へ引き渡すよう仰せ付けられました。右について玄蕃方が遠慮を相伺いたい旨でしたが、その儀に及びません。ただし玄蕃方で吟味もあり相達した儀なのでこの通りです。ただし右について町奉行、御奉行一人、御目付一人が吟味掛りを仰せ付けられました。
一 享保三年戌年四月十四日、御近習村上喜内が召し仕えている中間八助という者と御持弓頭土屋十郎右衛門が召し仕えている下女あかしが右の夫婦でしたが、昨十三日の夜、芦田右衛門屋敷裏通りで右の女を折檻し高声になったので、右衛門屋敷から聞き付けて吟味を遂げ、双方の主人へ右衛門方から断りがあったのに付き、男女共御城下を追放したい旨、喜内・十郎右衛門が願書付を差し出し、右をお達ししたところ、双方の願いの通り仰せ出されました。ただし勝見山の奥等の御城下近辺

1. Bunka 2 (1805), Year of the Ox, 7th month: Reports were heard of improper conduct by Ashida Daigaku's retainer Imamura Gibyōe, so the senior councilors ordered house arrest. A letter was sent to Daigaku requesting that he send one retainer, whereupon his representative Shimizu Saburōbyōe appeared. He was instructed to communicate to Daigaku that Gibyōe had been sentenced to house arrest.
1. Bunka 1 (1804), Year of the Rat, 6th month, 17th day: Ashida Daigaku's retainer Shimizu Shichitayū committed misconduct and was sentenced to family name extinction.
Since Shichitayū's grandmother was the aunt of Shun'an's birth mother, a request was made to take him in and raise him. Hashimoto Shun'an

Genbun 2 (1737), Year of the Snake, intercalary 11th month, 28th day: Kano Eisun's maidservant Shiyun, who had served until this summer, committed misconduct and was dismissed, but afterward repeatedly came to speak ill of him, making the situation unbearable. A request was made for appropriate handling.
1. Hōreki 6 (1756), Year of the Rat: Inspector Oka Saburōemon's written statement was as follows. Record of oral statement:
I have employed for many years a maidservant who is the daughter of one Ameya Shirōbyōe from in front of Ura-Midōmon. However, this person committed extremely improper acts, so I recently had her lodge elsewhere, then reported to Nara Gonzaemon and had her imprisoned from the 10th of this month. After conducting examinations from time to time, it was determined there were no grounds for appeal. Therefore, I humbly request that she be sentenced to banishment from the domain. Please kindly communicate this matter to the senior councilors at an appropriate time. End.

1. Kyōhō 3 (1718), Year of the Dog, 5th month, 23rd day: At Lord Ise's residence, the following:
Written directive: Memorandum to be communicated to Honda Ōkura's senior retainers
In recent years since the succession, from the time of Magotarō, the administrative practices in Fuchū have differed from those in Fukui, causing matters of concern to His Lordship. If Magotarō were still alive, His Lordship's thoughts could be communicated to him, but since he has died, this is not possible. Since Fuchū has been entrusted to your care for generations, there may be established administrative customs, but henceforth, since Ōkura is young, he should consider Fukui's administrative practices and apply careful attention to all matters. If there are further matters of concern, the senior retainers will be held responsible, and strict orders will be issued at that time. Always consult carefully without negligence and give proper instructions. △1. Kyōhō 8 (1723), Year of the Rabbit, 4th month, 13th day: When Ashida Uemon came on private business, he handed over the following written statement. When this was communicated to Sakai Tange, the response was "at your discretion," so this was communicated to Uemon: I employed as a servant one Shichisuke from Futagami Village in my domain, but he committed misconduct, so I wish to escort him to the domain border and impose a 13-ri radius ban. Please kindly report this matter to the monthly duty officer. End. 4th month, 13th day Lord Namikawa Sukeemon Ashida Uemon

Same 11th year (1726), Year of the Horse, 4th month, 5th day: Ashida Uemon reported to monthly duty officer Masugi Shozaemon that his servant Ichiemon, who had been in his employ until last winter, was dismissed for misconduct but continued to behave improperly. Since this man was from Ōmura in Uemon's domain and was no longer in service, he fell under Hikosaka Matabyōe's jurisdiction. The matter of Ichiemon should be reported to the magistrates and he should be banished from a 13-ri radius around the castle town. Uemon would inform Matabyōe of this and have group members escort the banishment today. Accordingly, Matabyōe was immediately informed of this matter.
△1. Same 12th year (1727), Year of the Sheep, 11th month, 29th day: Regarding the aforementioned Shichisuke, since he had an elderly father, a petition for pardon was granted. He was now permitted to return to his home village, though instructed not to enter Fukui. Uemon communicated this in writing.
1. Same 13th year (1728), Year of the Monkey, 3rd month, 13th day: Sengoku Ichitarō's retainer Tsubokawa Sawaji had previously absconded, but returned to Fuchū claiming he had made a pilgrimage. Ichitarō summoned him, placed him under house arrest, and petitioned the senior councilors in writing for banishment from the castle town.
1. Same 17th year (1732), Year of the Rat, 11th month, 22nd day: Akashi Kunai's servant Yosuke from Handa Village committed misconduct. Through Watanabe Sanaka, it was communicated to the senior councilors that permanent banishment from the castle town and his home village was desired. The response was "at your discretion." Notice was given by letter that the banishment would occur tonight, and this was communicated to Minagawa Heiemon, who administered Handa Village.

Note: The wife had been in service elsewhere and repeatedly spoke ill of Tōemon. The previous night she came and grabbed and bit him, making the situation unbearable, according to Tōemon's written statement.
1. Same year, 11th month, 27th day: Sakai Genba's retainer and page Takahashi Danzō counterfeited bills. A written petition was submitted to the inspector requesting that Danzō be handed over to higher authorities, and he was ordered to be transferred to the town magistrate. Genba wished to submit a petition of self-restraint, but this was deemed unnecessary. Note: Since Genba had conducted his own investigation and reported the matter, it was handled thus. Note: One town magistrate, one inspector were appointed to investigate this matter.
1. Kyōhō 3 (1718), Year of the Dog, 4th month, 14th day: The servant Hasuke employed by chamberlain Murakami Kinai and the maidservant Akashi employed by bow captain Tsuchiya Jūrōemon were husband and wife. On the night of the 13th, behind Ashida Uemon's residence, the man beat the woman and raised his voice loudly. This was heard from Uemon's residence, an investigation was conducted, and both masters were notified by Uemon. Kinai and Jūrōemon submitted petitions requesting banishment of both from the castle town. This was reported and granted as requested. Note: Areas such as the interior of Mt.
