祝いの義物として嘉兵衛へ南鐐一片、うの・市蔵へ金一朱ずつを送った。各々半紙二折ずつを添えた。媒人の壽光院は星野に止宿し、なお来月二日頃に開くと言われている。
二十九日丙子晴れ 職中の季快より招かれ、社中へ罷り出たところ、私の下地の下作三の三十郎について、ミクス六人の植田地競馬料判一石八升を皆納めないため、下地持より納めるべき旨を申し聞かせられた。承知いたした段を申し答え、更に申し頼まれたのは、右の年貢米は昨冬以来三十郎が貯え置いて納めるべきところ、畢竟取り込みをなし、重々不埒につき、村役人へ仰せ付けられ、御威光をもって御差し立て成し下されたく願い難く、もっともの由にて承知した。
五月大
朔日丁丑晴れ 禁中より仰せ付けられた五穀成就の御祈りの御当日につき、早朝参社し、次第は如常である。○足汰は例年の如く、三雲中書が家内同道で入来し、神條助も同じく入来し、一献出した。三雲は夕飯の後帰宅した。
五日辛巳晴れ 競馬会は例歳の如く、所司代御奉行中である。但し倹約中につき神料以下は先規の如く省略した。
七日癸未曇り後雨降り 社中より招かれて罷り出たところ、職中の謹直より申し聞かされたのは、下作三の三十郎の競馬料判一石八升九歩毛を納めず、取り込みをなし不埒につき、先月二十九日に経千より取り立て願いの趣はもっともと存じられ、評議の上厳重に仰せ渡されたところ、漸く金二歩銀六百五十匁を納め、居宅を社中へ御差し上げ、三十郎は退村を申し付けられ、右の建家はそのまま経千へ相渡しの段を申し渡された。但し地面は社中のものである由。また右の金二歩銭六百五十の之處、一人三十郎惣

As celebratory gifts, one piece of nanryō silver was sent to Kahei, and one shu of gold each to Uno and Ichizō. Two folded sheets of letter paper were added for each person. The matchmaker Jukkō-in stayed at the Hoshino residence, and it is said that the ceremony will be held around the second day of next month.
Twenty-ninth day, Hinoe-Ne, Clear - I was invited by Kikai of the shrine staff and went to the shrine assembly, where I was informed about my tenant farmer San no Sanjūrō's failure to pay the entire amount of one koku and eight shō of rice for the horse racing ground tax for six people at Mikusu's rice fields. I was told that as the landowner, I should pay this amount. I replied that I understood, and was further asked to consider that while this tax rice should have been stored by Sanjūrō since last winter for payment, he had ultimately become entangled in affairs and committed grave misconduct. It was reasonable to request that village officials be appointed and that enforcement be carried out through official authority, so I agreed.

First day, Hinoto-Ushi, Clear - For the prayer day for abundant harvests ordered by the Imperial Court, I visited the shrine early in the morning, and the proceedings were as usual. ○ For the foot-washing ceremony as in previous years, Mikumo Chūsho came with his family, and Jinjō-suke also came, and sake was served. Mikumo returned home after the evening meal.
Fifth day, Kanoto-Mi, Clear - The horse racing event was conducted as in previous years under the magistrates of the Shoshidai. However, due to the period of frugality, the shrine offerings and other expenses were reduced according to previous regulations.
Seventh day, Mizunoto-Mi, Cloudy then Rain - I was summoned by the shrine assembly and attended, where Kinchoku of the shrine staff informed me that tenant farmer San no Sanjūrō had failed to pay one koku, eight shō, and nine bu of rice for the horse racing ground tax, had become entangled in affairs and committed misconduct. The petition for collection made by Kyōsen on the twenty-ninth of last month was deemed reasonable, and after deliberation, strict orders were issued. Eventually, he paid two bu of gold and 650 momme of silver, surrendered his residence to the shrine, Sanjūrō was ordered to leave the village, and the aforementioned building was to be transferred to Kyōsen as it was.
