Regarding temple duties, from early morning, accompanied by the catering manager Yūzaemon, they went to the temple and stationed themselves in the abbot's quarters to consult with the attending monks on various matters. Regarding today's preparations, arrangements had been made in advance. From the tea ceremony officials up to the attendant officials, approximately sixty people in total were provided by the temple, while the remaining associates and others, approximately 370 people in total, were catered by Yorozuya Hachibē of Gojō Tonya-machi, who serves the temple. Rice, soup, and simmered dishes were provided at one monme per person.
○For the six representatives - Kishu deputy Motomura Gorōemon, Mito deputy Sakuramura Hanzō, Aoyama north messenger Minobe Mondo, Hosokawa deputy Makita Kumahachirō, Bizen deputy Nakano Ihēta, and Kanshōin-den's messenger Itō Sahibē - ceremonial food and sake were served at the palace before the coffin departure. This was generally arranged by the meal attendants through the affiliated Kiya Ihē. In addition, similar ceremonial meals were provided to the messengers from Daigo-den, Sanjō-den, Kōshōji-den, Nishikiorite-den, and others.
○The funeral procession began with the coffin departure at the Hour of the Rooster (6 PM), and the coffin arrived at Tōfuku-ji during the Hours of the Dog and Rat (8 PM to midnight). The procession order was as follows:
First: Kishu's Mori Jōemon with twenty tall lanterns and ten baskets of box lanterns.
Additionally, twenty tall lanterns were presented to Tōfuku-ji, erected with gold fittings on both sides from the temple's south gate to the imperial messenger gate. However, one lantern was to be placed outside the south gate on the left and right sides.
Second: Mito's Sakuramura Hanzō
Third: Sudō Sadayu, attendant to the Ōmandokoro's quarters, with thirty tall lanterns and twenty baskets of box lanterns
Fourth: Bizen's Nakano Ihēta with four tall lanterns and forty box lanterns
Fifth: Five blue-clad samurai, advance guards: Morisawa Tango, Imashimohashi Yamatonosuke, Saki Dazai, Daikan, and fellow senior retainers: Irie Tosakami, Nanba Yamashironosuke, Yasuda Kaganokami, each in plain clothing with tin staffs and high boots. Guards: Fujikoshi Naizen and Murakami Yagara. Four close attendants each carrying torches.
