差押被 仰付之但御凶事ニ付東本願寺殿へ御遺物取斗
方之義幷其余金銀取扱振不行届之筋有之ニ付而也

其外評議此度一社一統倹約ニ付年限中田振舞初参
方等樽代半納寄會始之節御酒三献明物すまし豆腐
肴二種数の子ひたし物二月勘定之節御酒五献吸

米十石ずつ元利へ下されるべき旨約定であったところ、八石に相成り、近年五石に相減し、今年も五石を下された。なお明年より当茂左衛門生涯米三石ずつ下し置かれるべき旨の一札を今日相渡された。もっとも経千まで内願があったにつき取り計らい遣わした。
八日辛午。時御燈講二十五会目につき出役例の如し。
十日癸申晴れ。同講勘定例の如し。
十六日己寅晴れ。細川侯より貞厳院殿以来毎年来三百石ずつ進められてあったところ、先年細川家御省略につき二百石減じられ、その後百石ずつに相成っていた。なおまたこの度御当方御代替わりにつき五十石減じられ、明戌年より以来御所様御一代中相違なく五十石ずつ進めるべき旨申し来た。○御用人佐々木太宰大監・村田式部大丞・御近習中野蔵人等の御取調べの義があるにつき、今日より出仕を止められ、御用場六位席の山口・下橋・森沢・岡本四人にて御預かり仰せ付けられた。○瀬尾弥兵衛妻高女が引越して以来、千代蔵がまだ罷り越さないにつき、今日召し連れ参り、高女へ土産として松風一袋を送り、祝酒菓子等を出した。
二十九日癸卯晴れ。御用人太宰大監・式部大丞・御近習蔵人・佐々木殿将監・村田殿刑部等に不正の筋があったにつき、思し召しを以て今日より差し押さえ仰せ付けられた。ただし御凶事につき東本願寺殿へ御遺物取り計らい方の義並びにその余金銀取扱い振りが行き届かなかった筋があったためである。

The agreement was for 10 koku of rice annually to be given as principal and interest, but this was reduced to 8 koku, then in recent years further reduced to 5 koku, and this year 5 koku was also given. Furthermore, a written pledge was issued today stating that from next year onwards, 3 koku of rice annually would be given to the current Mozaemon for his lifetime. This was arranged through an internal petition to Tsunesen.
8th day, Kanoto-uma. Attended duty for the 25th meeting of the Seasonal Lamp Lecture as usual.
10th day, Mizunoto-saru, clear. Accounting for the same lecture conducted as usual.
16th day, Tsuchinoto-tora, clear. Lord Hosokawa had been contributing 300 koku annually since the time of Lord Teigen-in, but due to the Hosokawa house's cost-cutting measures in previous years, 200 koku was reduced, and thereafter it became 100 koku annually. Now again, due to our lord's succession, 50 koku has been reduced, and from next year (year of the dog) onwards, 50 koku annually will be contributed without fail throughout His Lordship's reign. ○ Due to investigations regarding Chief Retainer Sasaki Dazai-daiakan, Murata Shikibu-daijō, Personal Attendant Nakano Kurōdo and others, their attendance at court was suspended from today, and custody was entrusted to four men from the sixth-rank office: Yamaguchi, Shimohashi, Morisawa, and Okamoto. ○ Since Chiyo-kura had not yet visited since Seo Yahē's wife Taka-jo moved, I brought him along today and sent a bag of matsukaze confections as a gift to Taka-jo, along with celebratory sake and sweets.
29th day, Mizunoto-u, clear. Due to improprieties by Chief Retainer Dazai-daiakan, Shikibu-daijō, Personal Attendant Kurōdo, Lord Sasaki Shōgen, Lord Murata Gyōbu and others, by His Lordship's judgment they were placed under house arrest from today. However, this was due to inadequate handling of memorial items for Higashi Hongan-ji during the period of mourning, as well as improper management of gold and silver.

1st day, Kinoe-tatsu, clear. In the evening, the three groups assembled as usual. Examination of small folded papers conducted as in previous years.
