後室初而入来也銘茶一袋被送之了

禰宜方三人目である。経紀が代勤させた。近衛使愛宕中将殿以下、未半刻ほど御参向である。経紀が申し、下刻に退下した。滞りなく相済み、珍重である。○猪飼より千午刻ほど入来、当月中泊りがけである。○保子従父姉、宇治星野後室並びに同妹堀川後室等が入来した。ただし星野後室は初めての入来である。銘茶一袋を送られた。
二十四日癸丑 二十一日以来今日に至り霖雨、昨夜よりもっとも強雨である。終日止まず。社頭当番は経寛が代勤させた。○昼飯後、五番衆拝領の神服古物の配分である。若役嵩亭において籤取り、経千は御服白綾二葉葵紋一尺四方ほどの品を拝受した。
二十五日甲寅 晴れ。御造営相済みにつき先規の通り一昨二十三日に能興行があるはずであったが、雨のため順延し今日執行され滞りなく相済んだ。番組は左の通り。当所能太夫川勝、孫之進が勤めた。番数は先例通り七番である。

朔日己未 晴れ。競馬足は例のごとく、倭文庄祐季等が馳せ、未にて落馬。金津庄経珍も同様。また番の時、金津経珍が頓宮辺にて落馬したが先規のごとく入直はなし。その余落馬七人あり。滞りなく相済んだ。
三日辛酉 晴れ。参宮祓につき乗尻庚崖、必顕より招かれた。
英語訳
He was the third among the shrine priests. Kyōki had him serve as substitute. Imperial Messenger Atago Chūjō and others made their visit for about half an hour. Kyōki reported, and they withdrew at the hour of Inu (8 PM). Everything was completed without incident, most gratifying. ○Someone from Ikai arrived around the hour of Uma (noon) and will stay overnight this month. ○Yasuko's paternal aunt, the widow of Uji Hoshino, and her younger sister, the widow of Horikawa, came to visit. However, this was the first visit by Hoshino's widow. She sent a bag of fine tea.
24th Day, Mizunoto-Ushi: From the 21st until today there has been continuous rain, with particularly heavy rain since last night. It did not stop all day. Kyōkan served as substitute for shrine duty. ○After the midday meal, there was distribution of old ceremonial garments bestowed upon the five groups. At the young officials' residence Kōtei, lots were drawn, and Kyōsen received white silk ceremonial robes with twin-leaf hollyhock crests, about one shaku square.
25th Day, Kinoe-Tora: Clear. With the shrine reconstruction completed, according to precedent, Noh performances should have been held on the 23rd, but due to rain they were postponed and performed today, completing successfully without incident. The program was as follows. The local Noh master Kawakatsu and Magonoshin performed. The number of pieces was seven as per precedent.

Wakame, Yumiya. Kyōgen master Miyake Sōzaburō performed.
26th Day, Kinoto-U: Cloudy. There was an offering of hashiragoto. ○The storehouse was recently sand-finished. ○Tomorrow is Kyōki's turn for daily shrine attendance. I asked Teikiyo to serve as substitute.
Fifth Month, Major
1st Day, Tsuchinoto-Hitsuji: Clear. For the horse racing as usual, Shitori Shōyūki and others raced. At the hour of Hitsuji (2 PM) there was a fall. Kanazu Shō Kyōchin also fell. Also during the rounds, Kanazu Kyōchin fell near Ton Palace, but as per precedent there was no re-entry. Seven others also fell. Everything was completed without major incident.
3rd Day, Kanoto-Tori: Clear. For the shrine visit purification, I was invited by riders Kōgai and Hitsuaki.
