現代語訳
十三日辛丑 晴れ。瀬屋次郎の借財の件で、尾州への暮らし向けの銀十三貫匁の返納が滞っており不埒であるとして、関東寺社奉行より呼び寄せられるとの旨を京都奉行所より申し達された。やむを得ず来る十八日より出発するにつき、今日暇乞いのため入来したので御酒を出した。
十四日壬寅 曇り。瀬尾弥兵衛方へ今夕より参った。同家の次兵衛が来る十八日より江戸へ下向するにつき、餞別として扇子三握り、和紙一包み十帖、艾袋、和中散の袋、貴船舟川の御守等を送った。また同じ手代の小兵衛へも同様につき、これは袋料として金一朱を遣わした。弥兵衛方より御酒を振る舞われ数献を結び、亥刻過ぎに帰った。
十五日癸卯 曇り。土蔵の打ち出しが昨日できた。○十日講新催一枚加わった。
十六日甲辰 御家門に加様の御盃を下されること例年のごとくである。○瀬尾次兵衛の関東下向一件につき、今日も終日同家の弥兵衛方へ参ることが及び積もった。
十九日丙申 雨。金掛講十六会目につき三本木吉田屋へ出役し、諸事例のごとく相済んだ。
二十日丁申 晴れ。次男経寛の義について、当春已来野村淡路守清算を以て二条家諸大夫藤木越後守敏顕方へ養子相続の義を内々に所望していたところ、三男経啓の年齢の辺りを以て申し請けたい旨申してきた。然るところ経啓の義について、先頃已来両足の裏に痒病があり、医師新宮涼庭が療治中につき、将来のところいかがあるべきか分からないため、やはり二男経寛を差し遣わしたい旨、更に清算まで返答に及んだところ、今日巳刻頃にいよいよ二男経寛を申し請けることに決定したとの返答が同人より申してきた。右につき即刻広橋家へ参り、取り敢えず右の挨拶を清算まで申し述べた。

13th Day, Kanoto-Ushi: Clear. Regarding Seya Jirō's debt matter, due to his delinquency in repaying 13 kan monme of silver for living expenses in Bishū Province, he was summoned by the Kantō Temple and Shrine Magistrate as conveyed by the Kyoto Magistrate's Office. Having no choice, he will depart on the coming 18th day, so today he came to take his leave and was served sake.
14th Day, Mizunoe-Tora: Cloudy. I went to Seo Yahē's place this evening. As Jihē of the same household will go down to Edo from the coming 18th day, I sent him farewell gifts including three bundles of fans, one package of ten booklets of Japanese paper, moxa bags, powdered medicine bags, protective amulets from Kifune and Funagawa, etc. I also gave the same to his assistant Kohē, for which I gave one shu in gold as bag money. Yahē served sake and we exchanged several cups, returning after the hour of the Boar.
15th Day, Mizunoto-U: Cloudy. The storehouse inventory was completed yesterday. ○ One more participant joined the 10th day new lecture.
16th Day, Kinoe-Tatsu: The customary ceremonial cups were granted to the family branches as in previous years. ○ Regarding Seo Jihē's matter of going down to Kantō, today also I spent the entire day visiting Yahē of the same household, and matters accumulated.
19th Day, Hinoe-Saru: Rain. For the 16th meeting of the gold-stake lecture, I went on duty to Yoshidaya in Sanbongi, and all matters were completed as usual.
20th Day, Hinoto-Saru: Clear. Regarding my second son Tsunehiro, since this spring I had been secretly requesting through Nomura Awaji-no-kami Seisan for his adoption and succession to Fujiki Echigo-no-kami Toshiaki of the Nijō family retainers, but a request came to consider my third son Tsuneaki based on his age. However, since Tsuneaki has had an itching disease on the soles of both feet for some time and is under treatment by physician Shingū Ryōtei, with uncertain prospects for the future, I responded that I would still prefer to send my second son Tsunehiro. Today around the hour of the Snake, a reply came from the same person that it was definitively decided to request my second son Tsunehiro. Regarding this, I immediately went to the Hirohashi house and promptly conveyed this greeting to Seisan.
