経董方へ参相談且吹聴申入存意無之珍重目出度之
旨也次ニ経威方へ参之処留守申也次文氏逞清并

■出度趣返答也且又御殿え右一件宛之義昨日
胡保方へ参吹聴之上及に談置之處同人今日出仕之

養子相續之義 両御所え言上伺相済大夫中へも及
沙汰旨胡保より被申聞依之御前へ出右御礼申上幾人
目出度旨蒙 仰次ニ諸大夫中已下役所々々吹聴申

相送熨斗目壱反鯣弐連別来段彼官中大路町市蔵
来祝酒出之為引青銅三百文半紙二折遣之尤媒介人

二十一日戊戌 曇り。次男経寛の敏顕方への養子内約の義が治定したにつき、経董方へ参り相談かつ吹聴を申し入れたところ、存意なく珍重目出度いとのことであった。次に経威方へ参ったところ留守であった。次に文氏逞清並びに必顕等へ右の吹聴を申し入れた。
二十二日己戌 晴れ。今朝経威方へ参り経董同様に申し入れたところ、重々目出度い趣の返答であった。また御殿への右一件の義について、昨日胡保方へ参り吹聴の上談じ置いたところ、同人が今日出仕の上で大夫中へ申し談じ、なお明日経千が出勤の後に言上に及ぶべしとのことであった。
二十三日庚亥 晴れ。御家門へ出仕したところ、経寛のこの度敏顕方への養子相続の義について両御所へ言上伺いが相済み、大夫中へも沙汰に及んだ旨を胡保より申し聞かされた。これにより御前へ出て右の御礼を申し上げたところ、いく人も目出度い旨の仰せを蒙った。次に諸大夫中以下役所々々へ吹聴を申し入れた。○昨二十二日、煕宮儲君の御治定、来る九月に親王宣下を仰せ出された。
二十四日辛亥 晴れ。下宿掛二条様御用人藤木因幡介弁顕の中宿へ参った。この度経寛の敏顕方への養子相続の義につき、内外何かと頼談に及んだところ、二条家においても昨二十三日左府公へ伺いが相済み、何等のお考えも為されていない旨の噂である。
二十七日甲卯 晴れ。今日が吉辰につき、敏顕より経寛へ目出度い印物が相送られた。熨斗目一反、鯣二連。別に来段、彼の官中大路町市蔵が来て祝酒を出し、引き出物として青銅三百文、半紙二折を遣わした。もっとも媒介人清算より達せられたものである。
二十八日乙辰 晴れ。経寛のこの度敏顕方への養子内約が相整ったにつき、御礼のため参社した。

21st Day, Tsuchinoe-Tori: Cloudy. As the matter of my second son Tsunehiro's preliminary adoption agreement with Toshiaki was settled, I went to Tsunetō to consult and inform him, and he responded that he had no objections and found it most auspicious and congratulatory. Next I went to Tsunetake's place but he was away. Then I informed Bunshi Teikiyo and Hissaaki and others of this matter.
22nd Day, Tsuchinoto-Inu: Clear. This morning I went to Tsunetake's place and made the same announcement as to Tsunetō, and received a reply expressing great congratulations. Also, regarding reporting this matter to the palace, yesterday I went to Kohō to inform him and discuss it, and he said that after he goes on duty today and consults with the senior retainers, he will make the formal report after Tsuneyuki goes to work tomorrow.
23rd Day, Kanoe-I: Clear. When I went on duty to the family residence, Kohō informed me that regarding Tsunehiro's adoption and succession to Toshiaki, the formal inquiry to both palaces had been completed and the matter had been discussed among the senior retainers. Therefore I went before [my lord] and expressed my gratitude for this matter, and received gracious words that many found it congratulatory. Next I informed all the senior retainers and various office personnel.○ Yesterday the 22nd, the designation of Prince Hiro as heir apparent was decided, with the imperial prince investiture ceremony to be announced for the coming September.
24th Day, Kanoto-I: Clear. I went to the lodgings of Fujiki Inaba-no-suke Akiaki, retainer of Lord Nijō. Regarding Tsunehiro's adoption and succession to Toshiaki, after discussing various internal and external matters, it is rumored that at the Nijō house as well, the inquiry to the Minister of the Left was completed yesterday the 23rd, and there are no particular concerns.
27th Day, Kinoe-U: Clear. As today was an auspicious day, congratulatory gifts were sent from Toshiaki to Tsunehiro: one tan of noshi-me fabric and two strings of dried squid. Separately, the aforementioned Ichikura from Ōji-machi in the government district came with congratulatory sake, and I gave him 300 mon in copper coins and two folded sheets of hanshi paper as return gifts. This was of course arranged through the intermediary Seisan.
28th Day, Kinoto-Tatsu: Clear. As Tsunehiro's preliminary adoption agreement with Toshiaki was arranged, I visited the shrine to express gratitude.
