過日申付置今日出来也尤唐水牛指渡し八分裏印反字絹

但し能大夫川勝権六郎服中ニ付代人寺田玄六相勤云々

朔日戊未晴敏顕次上下着用清算同道入来此度経寛養子内約

有之了而熨斗臺ニ乗経寛持出敏顕ニ居被請也少時而退散也
○経寛敏顕方へ引越之義ハ八月上旬直ニ初官位申上之約定也
右内約一件之義大津山本左京手原村猪飼正三郎方等
え過日書状を以吹聴申遣也○経寛養子相續ニ付敏顕方
迄親類書差出義六月中直ニ可差出之處印形未出来ニ付
延引今日調印了其写如左尤右者敏顕より御殿え被及

○経寛はまだ印形がないにつき、今出川通烏丸西へ入る北側の印判師へ過日申し付けて置いたものが今日出来上がった。もっとも唐水牛を指し渡し、八分の裏印、反字、絹無し、櫃代料として金三朱を遣わした。○昨夕より御戸代会能が例年の如くあった。ただし能大夫川勝権六郎が服中につき代人寺田玄六が相勤めるとのことである。
七月小
朔日戊未 晴れ。敏顕が次上下を着用し、清算同道で入来した。この度の経寛養子内約の挨拶を申し述べ、経寛も麻上下を着用させ初めて面会し、いよいよ久しく目出度い挨拶があった。そして熨斗台に乗せ経寛が持ち出し敏顕に居請けられた。少時にして退散した。
○経寛の敏顕方への引越しの義は八月上旬、直に初官位を申し上げる約定である。
右内約一件の義について、大津山本左京、手原村猪飼正三郎方等へ過日書状をもって吹聴を申し遣わした。○経寛養子相続につき敏顕方まで親類書を差し出す義は六月中に直に差し出すべきところ、印形がまだ出来上がらないにつき延引し、今日調印した。その写しは左の如くである。もっとも右は敏顕より御殿へ披露に及ばれるとのことである。

The arrangement was completed and I made the proper greetings, with the family meeting for the first time. The residence is on the west side north of Imadegawa on Teramachi. Since this was a private matter, I went in regular dress followed by formal court dress.
Last Day, Hinoto-Uma: Clear. From about the hour of the rat last night until this morning there was wind and rain, followed by clear weather.
○As Tsunehiro still did not have a seal, I had previously commissioned one from a seal engraver on the north side of Imadegawa street west of Karasuma, and it was completed today. I provided Chinese water buffalo horn and paid three shu in gold for an eight-bu reverse seal with inverted characters, no silk wrapping, and box fee. ○From last evening the annual Gotoshiro performance took place as usual. However, since Nō master Kawakatsu Gonrokurō was in mourning, his substitute Terada Genroku performed.
Seventh Month (short month)
1st Day, Tsuchinoe-Hitsuji: Clear. Toshiaki came wearing second-rank court dress, accompanied by Seisan. We exchanged greetings regarding Tsunehiro's preliminary adoption agreement this time. Tsunehiro also wore hemp court dress for their first meeting, and there were very auspicious and congratulatory greetings. Then [gifts] were placed on a noshi stand which Tsunehiro brought out and were received by Toshiaki. They departed after a short time.
○Regarding Tsunehiro's move to Toshiaki's residence, it is arranged for early August, with immediate application for his first court rank.
Regarding this preliminary agreement matter, I previously sent letters to inform Yamamoto Sakyō in Ōtsu, Ikai Shōzaburō in Tehara village, and others. ○Regarding the submission of the family registry to Toshiaki's household for Tsunehiro's adoption and succession, it should have been submitted directly in the sixth month, but was delayed because the seal was not yet completed. Today it was sealed. The copy is as follows. This will of course be reported to the palace by Toshiaki.
