候而は古来之社法難相立差支候義有之段被申上候所

送之且又三頭人重散よりも予被相招玉子一籠送之也

職中へ差出也○経寛今日 當御殿へ為御礼参上経千ゟ

御居間参上御礼申上候所 大御所より為御年玉杦原二折
令拝領之珍重々々且又経寛義諸大夫官位申替小折
紙今日職事方へ差出之旨吹聴也此段経千より言上也

季若四才内約有之処昨八日薩州京屋敷節ニ付千代蔵
代人瀬尾添兵衛手代伊助罷出之処千代蔵分焼物鯛塩
焼海老一尾添菓子七種被下之由今日仲助より相達也尤
當年初度ニ付家内一統芽出度相祝了○経寛今日為
年礼入来且申替吹聴也然ル處右諸大夫官位申考ニ付而ハ
諸入用金拾両兼而経千より可相送約定之所旧冬極り
廿九日養父敏顕より依入魂内金五両送之尚又残五両
近々相廻し呉候様昨日敏顕より書面ニ而申来ニ付今日
経寛ヘ五金相渡為持帰了右二而初官位已来約定通
都合金拾五両相渡先済也

現代語訳
しかしながら古来の社法を立て続けることが困難で差し支えがある旨を申し上げた所、それならば往来田を取り上げるべき旨を改めて仰せ出された。
七日辛卯曇り 二頭人氏総より招かれ、経啓への祝いとして御酒二升を送った。また三頭人重散よりも招かれ、玉子一籠を送った。
八日壬辰 経啓叙爵の件で、官銭五百文一つ、三百文一つ、二百文二つ、扇子三本入り二箱、片木二枚等、今日経啓が着袴して社中へ持参し、職中へ差し出した。○経寛が今日当御殿へ御礼のため参上し、経千より両御所へ伺った所、勝手に御前へ出るべき旨の仰せを受けたので、御居間に参上して御礼を申し上げた所、大御所より御年玉として杉原二折を拝領し、珍重なことであった。また経寛の諸大夫官位申請の小折紙を今日職事方へ差し出した旨が言い伝えられた。この件は経千より言上された。
九日癸巳晴れ 瀬尾次兵衛の養子相続人千代蔵について、かねてより経千五男季若四歳との内約があった所、昨八日薩摩藩京屋敷の節句にあたり、千代蔵の代人瀬尾添兵衛手代伊助が参上した所、千代蔵分として焼物、鯛塩焼、海老一尾添え、菓子七種を下された由、今日仲助より連絡があった。もっとも当年初度につき家内一統で目出度く祝った。○経寛が今日年礼のため入来し、また申請について言い伝えた。その諸大夫官位申請については諸入用金十両をかねてより経千より送る約定であった所、旧冬に決まり、二十九日に養父敏顕より懇意により内金五両を送り、なお残り五両を近々回してくれるよう昨日敏顕より書面で申し来たので、今日経寛へ五金を相渡して持ち帰らせた。これで初官位以来約定通り都合金十五両を相渡し、先ず済んだ。
十一日乙未晴れ 伊勢奏事始が例年通り行われた。

7th day, Kanoto-u, cloudy. Invited by the second-ranking official Ujisō, sent two shō of sake as celebration for Keikei. Also invited by the third-ranking official Shigechi, sent one basket of eggs.
8th day, Mizunoe-tatsu. Regarding Keikei's court rank appointment, official coins of 500 mon (one), 300 mon (one), 200 mon (two), three fans in two boxes, two wooden tablets, etc. Today Keikei wore formal hakama and brought these to the shrine community, presenting them to the officials. ○ Keikan went to the lord's residence today to pay his respects, and when Keisen inquired at both imperial residences, he was told he could freely appear before their presence, so he went to the living quarters and paid his respects. The retired shogun graciously bestowed two folded Sugihara papers as New Year gifts, which was most precious. Also, regarding Keikan's application for the rank of shoōdaibu, the small folded paper was submitted to the administrative office today, as was reported. This matter was reported by Keisen.
9th day, Mizunoto-mi, clear. Regarding Chiyo-kurō, the adopted heir of Seo Jibei, there had been a prior agreement involving Keisen's fifth son Suewaka, age four. Yesterday on the 8th, for the seasonal festival at the Satsuma domain's Kyoto residence, Chiyo-kurō's representative Seo Soebei's clerk Isuke attended, whereupon pottery, salt-grilled sea bream, one shrimp, and seven types of confections were bestowed upon Chiyo-kurō's portion, as reported today by Nakasuke. This being the first occasion this year, the entire household celebrated auspiciously. ○ Keikan came today for New Year greetings and also reported on the application. Regarding the shoōdaibu rank application, there was a prior agreement that Keisen would send ten ryō for various expenses. This was decided last winter, and on the 29th, his adoptive father Toshiaki sent five ryō as advance payment out of goodwill. Yesterday Toshiaki sent word in writing requesting that the remaining five ryō be sent soon, so today I gave the five gold pieces to Keikan to take back. With this, a total of fifteen ryō has been given as agreed since the first court appointment, and the matter is now settled.
11th day, Kinoto-hitsuji, clear. The Ise presentation ceremony began as usual.
