門より下山し、晴天となって岡寺、橘寺、飛鳥井社等に参詣した。飛鳥井社内は外大神宮である。同所にて中飯をとり、夕刻に近庄へ帰って泊まった。今日、留守中に初めて陣屋より役人の中川七右衛門と辻本市蔵という者両人が来て、西辻米札代銀一件について雄左衛門がよく示談を行った。もっとも、この掛け合いの趣意は一昨日私が認めて同人へ渡しておいた。
二十四日戊申晴れ 午後に雄左衛門を陣屋へ遣わし、返答を催促した。同所に泊まった。
二十五日己酉晴れ 陣屋役人の中川と辻本が午前に入来し、米札代銀を相当減らして百貫の証書と年賦崩しについて相談した。よって御用銀証文の示談を申し聞け、なお一統で申し談ずべきとのことで帰った。同所にて泊まった。
二十六日庚戌晴れ 午刻に中川と辻本が来て、御称号の証文並びに書付類、請書まで相談したが、百貫匁の年賦は破談となった。同所に泊まった。
二十七日辛亥晴れ 早朝より中川と辻本が入来し、一件について段々相談を重ね、平証文の義を申し願い、なお堺並びに親類の庄七、嘉兵衛等からも相願いにつき、双方和談の上でこの義を聞き済ませた。もっとも水野石見守殿領分の村役人共が調印し、米二千石ほど書き入れ、なお西辻陣屋役人の中川と辻本両人が添え証文の奥印を申し付け承服した。今日も同所に泊まった。
二十八日壬子雨 西辻より米札証文に相成り、米を書き入れる上は米札二百貫ずつ退却してくれるよう申してきたので、承知の旨を返答した。もっとも請取書を差し出すべき旨を申し遣わした。巳前刻に雄左衛門並びに親類の庄七、下部一人等を残し、今日証文両通の調印ができ次第、請け取って帰るべき旨を申し付けた。私は仲間の彦兵衛、下部一人、親類の嘉兵衛等を召し連れ、近庄を出立して当麻寺に参詣した（中将姫の古跡である）。当麻寺前にて中飯をとり、それより立田川を一覧し、龍田社に参詣、次いで法立寺に参詣した。郡山にて日没となり、それより三里行って木津門へ帰り、海彦屋庄七方に着いた。その時亥前刻ほどであった。

I descended from the rear gate, and as the weather cleared, I made pilgrimages to Okadera, Tachibana-dera, and Asukagai Shrine. Inside Asukagai Shrine is the Outer Ise Shrine. I had lunch at the same place, and in the evening returned to Chikashō to stay. Today, during my absence, for the first time officials from the encampment - Nakagawa Shichizaemon and Tsujimoto Ichizō - came, and Yūzaemon conducted thorough negotiations regarding the matter of silver payment for rice certificates at Nishitsuji. I had written the gist of this negotiation two days ago and given it to him.
24th day, Tsuchinoe-saru, clear. In the afternoon I sent Yūzaemon to the encampment to urge a response. Stayed at the same place.
25th day, Tsuchinoto-tori, clear. The encampment officials Nakagawa and Tsujimoto came in the morning to discuss considerably reducing the silver payment for rice certificates to one hundred kan in securities and annual installment arrangements. They discussed the matter of official silver certificates and said they would return after consulting with everyone. Stayed at the same place.
26th day, Kanoe-inu, clear. At the hour of the horse (11 AM-1 PM), Nakagawa and Tsujimoto came to discuss the certificates for the honorific title, various documents, and receipts, but the annual installment plan for one hundred kan-monme fell through. Stayed at the same place.
27th day, Kanoto-i, clear. From early morning Nakagawa and Tsujimoto came and gradually negotiated the matter, requesting standard certificates. Since Sakai and relatives Shōshichi and Kahei also made requests, after bilateral negotiations this matter was resolved. Officials from Lord Mizuno Iwami-no-kami's domain villages signed and registered about two thousand koku of rice, and furthermore the Nishitsuji encampment officials Nakagawa and Tsujimoto both applied supplementary document seals and agreed. Stayed at the same place today too.
28th day, Mizunoe-ne, rain. From Nishitsuji came word that since the rice certificate documents were completed and rice was registered, they would withdraw two hundred kan of rice certificates at a time, so I replied that I understood. I sent word that receipt documents should be submitted. At the early part of the hour of the snake (9-11 AM), I left behind Yūzaemon, relative Shōshichi, and one servant, instructing them to receive the documents and return once the signing of both certificates was completed today. I took along colleague Hikobei, one servant, and relative Kahei and departed Chikashō to make a pilgrimage to Taima-dera (the historic site of Princess Chūjō). Had lunch in front of Taima-dera, then viewed the Tatsuta River, made pilgrimages to Tatsuta Shrine and then Hōritsu-ji Temple. The sun set at Kōriyama, and from there I traveled three ri to return to Kizu gate, arriving at Umihiko-ya Shōshichi's place around the early part of the hour of the boar (9-11 PM).
