朔日癸未曇競馬足汰如例年也但十番之番追馬脛長
庄祐顕代太直馬不出于時先馬権祝元清中程より逆
馬場ニテ出口ニテ止リ右ノ手綱抜ル其間ニ追馬走出仍而
入直亦六番之番土田庄顕徳勝負木邊ニ而落馬入直
三日乙酉晴土蔵上塗二月七日より取掛り此節皆出来也
依之左官次郎三郎払前借共金七両壱歩渡之手傳
方乙四郎へ銭八貫文遣之也且又大工善兵衛外用向ニ付申
付ニ付依願前借米五斗相渡尚又今日金弐歩渡之也

若御所御参御同列御廻禮経紀御供ニ参也○競馬會
如例年三番左方先馬経威代千顕右方追馬封顕冠頭合
手放れ番不合先馬馳追馬扣止仍而入直二度目亦先馬抜出

二十八日庚辰 雨 御家門和歌御会始なり。諸事例年の如く済まされ、予は経紀取次を相勤めて了えた。

三日乙酉 晴れ 土蔵上塗り二月七日より取り掛かり、この節皆出来なり。これにより左官次郎三郎へ払い前借共に金七両一分渡し、手伝い方乙四郎へ銭八貫文遣わす。且つまた大工善兵衛、外用向に付き申し付けるに付き、願いにより前借米五斗相渡し、なお又今日金二分渡した。

Twenty-eighth day, Kanoe-tatsu (庚辰), rain. The annual poetry gathering of the noble family began. All matters were completed as in previous years, and I served as secretary and intermediary.
Last day of the month, Mizunoe-uma (壬午), cloudy with occasional rain. Horikawa Ōmi-no-kami has been suffering from madness since this past New Year and is not recovering well. His cousin Katō [name unclear] was recommended by Shingū Ryōtei for adoption, and there have been private discussions about this matter since then. Today, Namba Iyo-no-kami, Shimohashi Yamato-no-suke, and Keisen went directly to Ryōtei's separate residence, met for the first time, discussed various matters privately, and sake was served.
Fifth Month, Long Month
First day, Mizunoto-hitsuji (癸未), cloudy. Horse racing preliminary selection as in previous years. However, in the tenth race, the pursuing horses Sunenaga and Shōsuke Akishiro Tadanao did not appear.
