二日辛辰 晴 保誠の母堂が昨朔日に死去したため、弔慰として香典金一朱を送った。今夕の葬送について何かと世話をした。
三日壬巳 晴 浄衣弥衣籤、中還立の饗応が例の如く小宿季卯亭にて行われ、早朝に参集し、諸事例の如く相済んだ。○中飯後、臨時祭の御下行が若役清魚亭にて分配され、一人分銀にて四十九匁九分五厘を頂戴した。供料銭は当年米価高値のため、今年限りで五百文ずつと決められ、例の如く直ちに相渡された。
十二日辛卯 晴 相嘗会である。館飯の順番のため参勤、二継目である。予は二臈である。
十四日癸巳 晴 臨時祭加下行銭三百六十文を社中より相渡され、若役が持参した。○若御所臨時祭庭座御参役のため、今日御習礼があり、堂上方が御出席された。
十五日甲午 曇、午後雨降る 瀬尾弥兵衛の妻千世は近年中風病を患っていたが、過日再発し、この頃は至って体調が悪いため見舞いとして五種の煮染め一器を持参させたところ、昨夜養生叶わず死去したとの旨を同苗次兵衛より申し来た。表向きは来る十八日に披露、十九日未刻に報恩寺にて葬送とのことである。
十六日乙未 晴、入夜雨降る 瀬尾弥兵衛方へ弔慰のため参った。もっとも未だ表向きの披露はないが、地穢れとなるため今日参り、御酒一樽五升を随身に送らせた。
十九日戊戌 晴 瀬屋弥兵衛方の未刻寺門での葬送のため、名代として御殿仲間青木彦兵衛を遣わした。もっとも箱提灯持ち一人を召し連れ、見送り代香等を相勤めた。

Second day, Kanoto-tatsu (辛辰), clear. Since Hōsei's mother passed away yesterday on the first day, I sent one shu of incense money as condolence. I took care of various matters for this evening's funeral.
Third day, Mizunoe-mi (壬巳), clear. The purification robe lottery and the banquet for the middle return ceremony were held as usual at Koshuku Kiubōtei. I gathered early in the morning and everything was completed as usual. ○ After the midday meal, the special festival distribution was made at Wakayaku Seigyo-tei, and I received 49 monme 9 fun 5 rin in silver per person. Due to the high rice prices this year, the offering money was decided at 500 mon each for this year only, and was distributed immediately as usual.
Twelfth day, Kanoto-u (辛卯), clear. This was the Ainame-sai (harvest festival). I attended for the ceremonial meal rotation, this being the second session. I held the second rank.
Fourteenth day, Mizunoto-mi (癸巳), clear. The additional distribution money of 360 mon for the special festival was delivered from the shrine community by a junior official. ○ For the courtyard ceremony role at the young imperial residence's special festival, there was a rehearsal today with the court nobles in attendance.
Fifteenth day, Kinoe-uma (甲午), cloudy, rain in the afternoon. Seo Yahei's wife Chiyo had been suffering from apoplexy in recent years, but it recurred recently, and her condition has been very poor lately. I sent a container of five kinds of simmered and dyed foods as a visit, but was informed by the same family's Jibei that she passed away last night despite care. The formal announcement will be on the coming 18th, with the funeral at Hōon-ji temple at the hitsuji hour on the 19th.
Sixteenth day, Kinoto-hitsuji (乙未), clear, rain in the evening. I visited the Seo Yahei household for condolence. Although there has been no formal announcement yet, since it constitutes ritual defilement, I visited today and had an attendant deliver one barrel of five shō of sake.
Nineteenth day, Tsuchinoe-inu (戊戌), clear. For the funeral at the temple gate at the hitsuji hour at the Seo Yahei household, I sent Aoki Hikobei from the palace group as my representative. He took along one lantern bearer and performed the farewell incense offering and other duties.
