當月十五日已来病氣小便閉之所一両日殊に不勝趣ニ付為
見舞参共痛甚敷躰也依之是迄醫師福井蔵野伊良
子杉山等数輩療治候得共小水不通旨ニ付予相進新宮
涼庭診療之義経先行向相頼聊刻入来同人門弟伊織と
申仁呼寄便道より管ヲ入今夜中へ懸両度小水初而七
合五勺斗通息磨四郎初手代中大ニ喜悦也
廿三日辛未晴昨日来瀬尾方ニ止宿尚又今朝新宮門人
管相用所便道に膿水多滞小水不便色々手を尽し
候得共不通術盡致方無之旨也依之亦々荻野薬相用
新宮方相断也予未刻斗帰宅了
廿四日壬申曇後雨瀬尾弥兵衛方へ為見舞に参処途中使に逢
現代語訳
次第に打ち払い切り捨てにもいたすよう申し渡した。これにより右の徒党の者どもが、もし当地表へ逃げ去ることがあるかも計り難いため、万一怪しい者が越えて来た場合は召し捕るよう、土井大炊頭より申し越したので、心得のため相達する。もっとも御所向きの儀は急ぎ入ることがあれば申すべきである。
二月二十日
松平伊豆守組の与力同心どもに御築地の内の夜回りを申し付け、回らせ申している。これについて怪しい者と見受けた場合は、摂家方、宮方、堂上方の御家来と申しても、時宜により召し捕り吟味することもあり得るので、兼ねて申し越し置く旨を申し聞かせた。これにより此の段申し上げ置く事。
二月二十日
右二通は例の如く伝奏衆より達せられた。
二十二日庚午晴れ 金懸御講勘定が例の如く相済んだ。○瀬尾治兵衛が当月十五日已来病気で小便が詰まった所、一両日殊に具合が悪い趣きにつき見舞いのため参ったが、痛みが甚だしい様子である。これにより是まで医師の福井、蔵野、伊良子、杉山等数名が療治したが、小水が通らない旨につき、予が進めて新宮涼庭の診療の義を先行きに向けて頼み、少し刻が入って来訪した。同人の門弟で伊織と申す人を呼び寄せ、便道より管を入れ、今夜中にかけて両度、小水が初めて七合五勺ほど通った。息子の磨四郎をはじめ手代中も大いに喜悦している。
二十三日辛未晴れ 昨日来瀬尾方に止宿した。なお又今朝、新宮門人が管を用いた所、便道に膿水が多く滞り、小水が不便で色々手を尽くしたが通らず、術が尽きてなす術がない旨である。これにより又々荻野薬を用い、新宮方には断りを入れた。予は未の刻頃帰宅した。
二十四日壬申曇り後雨 瀬尾弥兵衛方へ見舞いのため参る処、途中で使いに逢った。

Since it was difficult to predict whether members of this rebel band might flee to this area, Doi Ōi-no-kami sent word that any suspicious persons who might cross over should be arrested. This is communicated for your information. If there are urgent matters concerning the Imperial Palace, they should be reported immediately.
20th day of the 2nd month
The yoriki and dōshin of Matsudaira Izu-no-kami's group have been ordered to patrol within the palace grounds at night and are making their rounds. Regarding this, if anyone appears suspicious, even if they claim to be retainers of the Sekke families, Imperial families, or court nobles, depending on circumstances they may be arrested and interrogated. This has been communicated beforehand. Therefore, I report this matter.

These two documents were transmitted from the Densō (Imperial messengers) as usual.
22nd day, 庚午, Clear - The accounting for the Gold-stake Lecture was completed as usual. ○ Seo Jihei has been ill since the 15th of this month with urinary retention, and his condition has been particularly poor for the past day or two, so I went to visit him. His pain appears quite severe. Several physicians including Fukui, Kurano, Irako, and Sugiyama have treated him, but since his urine would not pass, I recommended and arranged for Shingū Ryōtei to examine him. He arrived after a short while, and called his disciple named Iori, who inserted a catheter through the urethra. During the night, urine passed twice for the first time, about 7.5 gō. His son Mashirō and the clerks were greatly delighted.
23rd day, 辛未, Clear - I stayed overnight at the Seo residence from yesterday. This morning again, when Shingū's disciple used the catheter, much pus and fluid had accumulated in the urethra, making urination difficult. Despite various efforts, it would not pass, and they said all methods had been exhausted. Therefore, Ogino medicine was used again, and I informed the Shingū side of this decision. I returned home around the hour of Hitsuji (around 2 PM).
24th day, 壬申, Cloudy then rain - While going to visit the Seo Yahei residence, I encountered a messenger on the way.
