但見送名代青木彦兵衛差遣但し不及挑灯遣

二十七日乙亥曇り 葵御祭につき下行料が相渡され、例の如く一石を頂戴した。
二十八日丙子曇り 瀬尾故弥兵衛の屋敷表の家督願いが遺言願いで済む趣となり、これにより今日表向きに披露された。明日二十九日報恩寺にて八つ時に葬送する旨、同苗の次兵衛より知らせてきた。
二十九日丁丑曇り 八つ時、瀬尾故弥兵衛の葬送につき代香として、ただし見送り名代として青木彦兵衛を差し遣わした。ただし提灯は必要なしとして遣わした。また千代蔵名代の義は、同苗次兵衛方にて取り計らって差し出される筈である。彦兵衛への会釈として銀一封を遣わした。

29th day, 丁丑, Cloudy - At the hour of Yatsu, for the funeral of the late Seo Yahei, I sent Aoki Hikobei as my representative to offer incense, and also as my proxy for seeing off the deceased. However, lanterns were deemed unnecessary and not sent. Also, regarding Chiyozō's representation, it is arranged that clansman Jibei will handle and provide this. I gave Hikobei one sealed packet of silver as a courtesy payment.
